FYI, Basically I never eat animal products. I never buy animal pruducts like leather, wool or silk. AND, I want to get rid of the huge wall that some vegatarians and vegans have built between vegans and non-vegans. Like I said in this video, that honeycomb was a gift for me from my friend who doesn't even know the word "vegan". I appreciate my friend's kindness and decided to make something with it instead of just throwing it away. so, what's wrong with you? I just want global peace. What DO YOU want? :)

@@Barys41 You're full of shit. If you know what veganism is but still choose not to be vegan,says only about you. You are using your sheep slaves for wool. That is wrong. Same goes for bees. There are no happy slaves. The reason you trim their wools is because they are genetically modified to produce access wool. Stop breading genetically modified slaves and stop trying to justify your immoral actions towards sheep.

I think it is ethically more responsible to put to good use something that was gifted to you with good will and generosity. There is no reason to make a friend feel bad for something that has been a nice gesture towards you. We have to live according to our principles but that doesn't mean being so rigid they not allow oneself some leeway to do something that ultimately hasn't caused any harm.

I knew you were going to get bashed when I saw the title. Me myself, I have owned a pair of nice leather gloves as well because they were amongst things that would have been thrown away when the father of a friend died and the family was looking to get rid off stuff. Being an ethical vegan is about constant evaluation about how to source materials with the least harm to all living things. There is no such thing as a pure vegan. Props to you for being courageous enough to make this point.

throwing things into trash or giving them to people who don't take care of what they have is like giving no importance to the animal's or plant's or whatever life so if I have leather items which are given to me I just keep them and treat them well. if someone can't stand using leather even though it wasn't bought by that person, then give it to someone you know puts some effort into keeping things in a good condition. I don't eat meat but my family does sometimes. if it's been there for some days and no one eats it, I feed it to my pets or eat it myself just to prevent it from being thrown in the trash.

Sanne , that is very true. most abuses and unethical beekeeping happens from large-scale companies, however. making an effort to research local honey and buy local isn’t all that hard, and gives the beekeepers who ARE helping protect the bee population money to keep doing so.

Sanne and you still kill bugs when you accidentally step on them everyday. We can't completely avoid the killing of all living things, if you tried you'd just be sitting in one spot in your house all day. You'd never get out. I think ethical beekeeping is better but we can't avoid literally EVERYTHING

I was curious when I saw the title at first then wondering what controversy would cause. So I started reading the comments instead watching the video... Hey people, relax~~~ I once read a vegan says, though he is a vegan and sticks with it, when he travels, he won't insist to eat all-vegan, because its like when he meets new friends or people who offer him food, it is nice to accept and open to all this kindness with gratitude. You can be a vegan or a non-vegan because you can choose, some people take food is for their life. So, be respect to others' choice and to food itself.

Mel LU Now, I can respect your choice to not eat meat and all that but remember that your version of being vegan and someone else's is totally different. You are you, nobody else is you, and you cannot tell anyone to be like you. You have no right to insult someone's way of life, and no right to act as if you're better. Okay? Okay.

tracy nail wow ,you sound lovely till the end.Who am I insult,please tell me? The definitions of words exist so that we can communicate,they don't change based on how we feel. Being vegans means, you live without using the animals as a resource,if you find a way to use them,don't call yourself vegan. Prettycool here ,use her friend as an example,and he isn't. Don't know who do you respect,but definitely not the animals and its decisions . Animals are someone,not something,and definitely call them food is not respectful.
@tracynail4432
@tracynail4432 6 жыл бұрын
Mel LU I am actually very lovely to be around. I love animals, I own four dogs a cat and if I were home more I would have a snake too but they can't travel very well. I look into what zoos are helping conserve animals before I visit one, and do my best to support local farmers with both their produce and meat, because at the end of the day, I support people. I support people just trying to make ends meet and just trying to feed their families. I eat meat; sure. I eat a whole lot of it. I have a very high protein diet, and I know I can get vegetarian or vegan options for my protein, but honestly, that's too much hassle for me. But in relevance to this video, I support beekeepers, too. So I'll eat local honey and use local beeswax.

As a vegan, what if I told y’all that beekeepers are actually helping the bees? Also, it was a gift, it’s not like he’s giving his money to support animal cruelty. Not to mention that honey combs always come from beekeeper. It’s the extinction of bumblebees you should be worried about. Bumblebees are wild animals and are not kept by beekeepers and if the bumblebees disappear we are all going to die!
@Your-Least-Favorite-Stranger
@Your-Least-Favorite-Stranger 6 жыл бұрын
That in mind we'd look to flower or vegetable gardeners for the bumblebees (I have a patch of nightshade growing in my yard I refuse to disturb because the bumblebees get so much food from it. I could use it for my garden, pretty much an ideal spot with partial shade in the evening, but then the bees would have to travel farther for food; seeing them buzzing around in the morning is worth the trouble of finding somewhere else to grow my garden).
@melanirodriguez1924
@melanirodriguez1924 6 жыл бұрын
Looks like information on the internet confuse you. Bees are not the only animals helping the enviroment. Our lives doesn't depend entirely on the bees. And Bumblebees aren't even native of America. But really,even if all that was true,the help of beekepers really just help us to use the bees,does not help the bees at all

You can totally do it! The easiest thing to make by yourself are lip balms - just mix some beeswax, oil (jojoba or coconut works best), and shea butter together. You can even add your own flavors with essential oil or even colors with mica powder or some of my friends use cocoa powder for a bit of a tint :D I know it's kinda hassle-y, but I started making it together with my friend since she's kinda sensitive to chemicals, and making it has been our go to 'girl's night' activity :D

Is it just me or I find it bloody difficult, near impossible, being a 100% vegan 24/7. I mean especially if you're into makeup, skincare, body, the majority of products are not 100% vegan and even when you find products that are, they don't always suit your skin or complexion or simply too expensive to keep up regularly. Also many companies that claim to be vegan can be owned by bigger companies that do animal testing or promote a non vegan lifestyle. I mean WTF, right? The more research I do, the more disillusioned I get because at the end of the day it all seems to come down to money after all even for those claiming to be "ethical" and animal friendly. Ah well.

Pom 3 The fact of being one labeled a vegan or animal cruelty free don't give us a moral high ground among our human peers, we in the eyes of other living beings would be considered as the most invasive species who has thrived over this planet Earth since it's creation in eons. The only qualms I can find for being more ecological is to try to minimize the damage and suffering being done for our sustenance.

wow I didn't know that being 100% vegan means you can't even use those products LOL or leather / fur goods like Ryoya-san said in his comment. That is just...impossible?

johnny chang I 100% agree with you. But the problem is that most vegans I've seen (and trust me, I've seen enough) they always think they're at the top of the human species just because "they are vegan". But at the same time, it's really impossible to be 100% vegan, since 'you Can't eat/use ANY animal related products' like: -> milk, cheese, 98% of cosmetic products, wool, honey, silk, pearl(you heard me, pearl come from oyster aka animal product), Casein (used in plastic, clothing, makeup, glue, paint). And Most importantly: [Gelatin]. used in food, makeup, vitamin tablets, gummy, Medicine. I bet yall vegans don't even know that gelatin is an animal product Plus do you guys know how many people need a new heart? Some times (but not very often) that Pig Heart is used for heart transplant. So if you tell me that you rather die than to have a heart transplant, you deserve a throphy

K Spade I don't know if the definition of animal includes any microscopic organisms capable of locomotion, but if so we will be practically defeated of the purpose of being free of dependency of animal based products, because a lot of the building blocks of the food chain came from contributions of fungi and yeast capable of locomotion, and those are in the gray area between a vegetable and animals.
@kspade1788
@kspade1788 7 жыл бұрын
johnny chang It does include it, since "animal product" is Anything relating/produced by animals Just because there're A LOT of gray areas for veganism, there will never be 100% vegans. But that's not even my main problem, my problem is that 80% of the vegans speaks as if they're at the top of the human pieces and they think that being vegan makes them morally better than everyone else.

Dear fellow vegans, grow up. This is why people do not tolerate you and listen to the vegan message. This is a wonderful channel of compassion and I'm glad he did this video to show you how sucked into the vegan propaganda you are instead of just living your life the best you can and helping others to do so also.

Some people get so much into the ritual and the proselytizing that they often forget to honor the earth and be nice to other earth dwellers - Which is like...the whole point of veganism in the first place.

Regardless of what all you haters are saying, this man has a great talent when it comes to appreciating what he’s been given. I believe that him not wasting his friend’s efforts is the most vegan thing he could’ve done with this gift.

Thank you! All of my vegan friends are super chill because they believe that veganism is all about connecting and giving back more to the earth and not some strict ritual, so I'm always weirded out by the 'vegan police', as they call it, being rude and talking down to people in the internet.

I once was given a honeycomb like that (from a non-proffesional local beekeeper). We at home just let it melt down in a pot with water (no need for a cloth at that point)and then, whith a spoon, we took off the impurities from the surface. Once it cooled down, we had a nice chunk of beeswax floating over a honey-saturated water, which I used to sweetening my drinks for a long time ;-)

Small time, private bee keepers that do it as a hobby and not a business baby their bees as much as someone would care for their pet. It's not always some torturous abuse. Also some hives get abandoned. Since he got it from a friend, and it was in quite an organic, raw state. I can't imagine it was from any level of professional. So the angry vegans are just upsetting themselves and others instead of trying to be more friendly and positive. I personally eat animal products. I do admire most vegans and would like to explore their lifestyle, however, when I see vile and rude comments it just makes me so annoyed that I want to eat a burger just to spite them. I know it's not rational or adult, but the bad behaviour just repels me from them. This channel and many others out their show vegans in such a positive light that it is a shame that a few bad apples spoil the bunch.

I like how he tried to break down the beeswax and clarified as best he can for someone who doesn't do beekeeping. It is quite interesting to watch, I cringed here and there because there is a process to breaking it down, clarifying it and make it into a product. He's doing this at home so Props for him for even doing it this way. he went on and experimented in his own way which was very amusing to watch. I thoroughly enjoy this and his Peaceful Cuisine channel because my significant other is allergic to the whey protein in all dairy, so making something sweet for him is hard. And a lot of vegan sweets also calls for peanut butter and he's allergic to that too. So most desserts I find are on his other channel and it opens a lot of recipes for us to use.
