I felt that pain when you realized the blade was to thick. I was making Guts dragonslayer and i made it to thick so instead of startig over I just made the sword bigger and now its huge

damn man, that sword, if made by pure iron in medieval times it would be categorized one of the most unhumanly biggest greatswords of all time!
@SiegCosplayWorks
@SiegCosplayWorks 2 жыл бұрын
And would've cost like 8 castles worth of gold. I remember, because of material rarity back then, a top quality standard sword would've cost a small castle worth of gold.

I'm always watching videos. I'm just curious. What kind of fabric is it used to make the props?
@SiegCosplayWorks
@SiegCosplayWorks 2 жыл бұрын
Well, what I use the most commonly used for cosplays called "EVA foam" or rubber sheets as some call it. It's the most user friendly material so far in my opinion which goes in varying thickness. There's also Worbla, which is a thermoplastic that you could heat up, then it'll become like clay and you can use to mold pieces with and it'll maintain that shape when cooled off.

If you don't mind me asking; What Materials do you use and how do you get it to harden?
@SiegCosplayWorks
@SiegCosplayWorks Жыл бұрын
They don't technically harden, more like stiffen to some point because of the layers of acrylic emulsion, paint, along with the layers of eva foam and the aluminum pipe.

I personally want to know how you got these dimensions and proportions correct! ha!
@SiegCosplayWorks
@SiegCosplayWorks 7 ай бұрын
Trial and Error. Although that only happened with the thickness, since then I had to remake the blade once. The rest is proportioning the sword to my height and the reference images

How much did it cost to make the whole costume with the sword.
@SiegCosplayWorks
@SiegCosplayWorks Жыл бұрын
That would depend because EVA foam prices varies from country to country. With the prices of spray paint, eva foam, an aluminum rod, and acrylic emulsion in your country, you'd have a good gauge on how much will it take. Everything else is the time you have to spend creating it.
