did you just rip a 4"x4" piece of this stuff in half, and then round over the edges? i am interested in making these without using carpet -is that safe for an aluminum bass boat? i have seen the Tuff Bunk brand boards and feel as though this could be a better alternative, being that this is solid rather than a spray-on finish over a pine board. also, i am assuming that this stuff does not flex like composite decking, which is durable but very flimsy across a span (also half as thick though) i did buy some solid composite rail posts for my deck (not this brand), which are roughly 3.5" x 3.5" and are stiff, but also only 4' long and also 1.5" thicker than these would be. thanks for any tips or suggestions.

No they come in 2x4s. The plastic lumber does not do well when it is ripped. It will do great with aluminum.

@@Straight0uttaCrofton yes, I think they would work fine, but you would need to test and decide for your self. This is different from the decking material it is a lot more bendable. Check out my landscape video, you can see me bend them around.

Plastic lumber is NOT good for boat bunks because it's much less stiff than wood and will not support a boat properly. I've seen more than a couple hulls ruined by plastic bunks.

What size is the wood that is properly supported the boat you are talking about? Most I have see are 2x4s. Not much support there.

@@TheImprovementChannel a wood 2x4 has much less flex than a 2x6 poly board. I've seen this myself. Maybe if you doubled them up? I dunno... But you want SOME flex, but not too much

Tanner Saurus it also depends on the plastic lumber. Some brands are much more flexible. This that we used has worked great.
