Bit of a different video today. This one's just a quick little opinion piece. Also, special appearance by my baby art in this video. Some of it has me scratching my head lol. Be well, friends.

Should I lean more into comics content or keep it more to general art videos?

If you could do both, that would be cool; but im leaning more into comic content.

You do you, but this video was especially good because it was short and to the point and has a positive message. In short, comic related or no, if it’s good it’s good.

So you wouldn't mind if I pivoted to deep dives on Mongolian Throat Singing, as long as it's good? ;)

doing comics trains you to think spatially, draw new perspectives, and solve problems with "out of the box" thinking. This is good insight.

Oh, yeah, for sure. I'm always thinking of where things are in relation to one another from panel to panel. Something non-sequential art doesn't make your brain do. Thanks for watching!

You’re welcome for watching! Also I was like “Yay! He’s taking to me!” When you shout out to readers of your comic. Then suddenly felt awful in the realization that Im behind on reading everything youve posted to your site…

Hey, no worries. It's not going anywhere. But the physical book is in a bit of a production hell, kind of regret making the special edition lol.

I'd argue that putting forth the effort to make something that you're genuinely interested in is more helpful to you in the long run than doing traditional art-school style drills. At least, that's what works for me. I enjoy making each piece more complex and difficult than the last. I don't feel doing a thousand still life pieces is going to make me better at rendering light sources when I could be doing something I genuinely enjoy and work at the same problems in the process. Which is Character and Monster design. As someone who has read Doom Sayer: You are right. It's a great archive of your accomplishments as an Artist and there's a clear distinction between your first Chapter and your most recent. Looking forward to Chapter 14 whenever its ready. No rush. I feel the inferiority complex that comes with working in the Arts, especially with drawing, comes from the fact that there's some vulnerable part of you that's attached to each and every single piece you do. There's time and effort involved in the drafting and production. Sharing that with others comes with some hefty feelings. As for the Comics Content vs General Art Videos: I like them both. I'd suggest Comics Content since that's what you're working on and your interest bleeds through it. While General Art could be reserved for those moments when something particularly spicy or important crops up and you feel compelled to talk about it. Thanks for the video!

Thank you for the feedback! It's always appreciated. But Chapter 14's been out for a while. Unless you meant Chapter 15? Which will most likely be done within the next two weeks!

I'll have to give that a read! I didn't notice. I kept the bookmark at the end of Chapter 13, figuring that I could move to Chapter 14 from there. So I had been waiting at the wrong page. So that's an error on my end. I'll have to adjust my bookmarks accordingly.
