Great video but small correction, Hollywood movies aren't edited with premiere pro, they use Avid media composer and After Effects is only industry standard for motion graphics and indie VFX (maybe) but professional Hollywood VFX compositing is done with Nuke. Pretty much no Adobe software is used at big VFX studios working for Hollywood movies since they all run Linux and none of the Adobe stuff run on Linux.

Substance is _not_ an Adobe product, they acquired that company. The software itself is a fairly invaluable tool to people working with 3D (many of whom were not happy about the acquisition, as you might imagine). They've manged not to fuck it up too badly, so far, for the most part... Having said that We moved on some time ago and Great Day in the Morning has Adobe done nothing but put paid to that decision. Affinity, Blackmagic(Resolve, Fusion), Blender, Unreal, Inkscape, Krita, CSP, OpenToonz (and it's forks), Procreate. There are more options for is smaller fish than moght be realized.

Funny enough, my first exposure to this comic when it first made waves online was in the form of a meme edit on Twitter where someone changed all the dialogue to be about how much Nick loves Arby's and how Judy doesn't want to eat it anymore. I knew a photographer once that never upgrades from CS6 of Photoshop and today he not only seems the smartest, he saved a ton of money. What they are doing other will start to do as well. Adobe takes tons of space on each device and is just cumbersome. They add and kill apps frequently and simply overstated their usefulness. I was always for diversity and competition. And thank god we have alternatives. I am not an Artist, but adobe will kill the common digital artist with that. And that is greed and lack of vision in its purest form. They don't know what to do, so they do what everyone else does.

What used to be a tool for people often times chanced to pure data collection to sell and to train AI Models. I have been using Adobe Products since 2005. By 2018 I have already worked 2 or so years with Sketch (feels very much irrelevant today) and since that time Figma. XD never caught on. And I cannot emphasize enough how happy I am adobe did not buy them. They would have bloated them up as well. Most would've probably switched to Framer I suppose.

Very entertaining! Okay, I remember Pagemaker, never liked it. Indesign was not so innovative. Hardly, actually, they copied and competed with Quark Xpress which was a MONSTER and the go to for layout work for many years. Before that was an incredible desktop publishing software called Ready, Set, Go developed by Manhattan Software Company. The good ‘ol days. 🎉

A lot of software you mentioned was actually developed and produced by outside companies, like Flash and DreamWeaver was made by Macromedia. I think Photoshop was also bought by Adobe.

I just use Krita, it's free and open source so you can easily add tools and modify it for your own use! (I don't like using proprietary tools by larger companies anyways and currently use FOSS community driven software). Adobe has some good tools but the way it is given is not the best.

i use figma for everything indesign related, its very nice :D its actually owned by adobe. well before it was a adobe compatitor, but now adobe bought it, but it seems to be ran by its own team and not adobe directly

Clip Studio (terrible name, great software) and the Affinity suite. That's the way I'm going. I don't do any heavy 3D or video/animation, so I'll be fine. I will miss generative fill (and in fact, smart fill), but since I CAN'T F-ING CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION for several months, I guess I'll keep using my Photoshop for that. Someone else should come up with a solution for that soon elsewhere.

I disagree with Adobe scanning every computer with the excuse of looking for child abuse content or similar. There is a reason for the police needing a warrant to do a search. What gives them permission to violate your privacy and step into your house? How do we know they are not criminals or creepy guys on their side looking to your family/wife or kids pictures? What makes them the right to accuse you to be a suspect of criminal activities? This is plain wrong and has to stop. because corporations adn government will make up excuses to violate our rights whenver they wnat to. And this is happening on and on since 2001.
