Making Core Memories At Disney California Adventure! | Toddler Picks Our Rides & We Had A Blast!

Today is day 2 of our Disneyland trip and we head to Disney California Adventure for a morning of rides, fun and food! Our morning started out a little disappointing because all of the rides we wanted to ride were closed but it quickly turned around. We were able to make some core memories, ride some rides, have lots of smiles, eat a delicious lunch and meet some of our favorite characters! We hope you had fun hanging out with us today! You were here the weekend when the bands of the tropical storm were here. Came in right after the massive heat wave. I know the humidity and such wasn't as bad as Florida, but those of us that have been to WDW, the weather reminded us of it. Normally it's not so sticky here. I only wish it had been windier and rainier here. One thing I love about Florida is a good thunderstorm with a downpour and wind. Sorry, we didn't have normal Orange County weather for you. Between the heat wave and tropical storm, it has been a crazy summer weather wise.

It`s such a joy to see Jackson`s face when he`s on the rides! He strides so confidently too, I`d never be able to keep up! I wish Tim could be there, I know D23 isn`t the whole week so hopefully he`ll have a few days in the park with the fam. Fyi those hotel thermostats usually have a VIP mode that you can turn on by hitting a couple buttons at the same time which disables the motion sensor and gets it to run based only on temp.

As someone who now has teens, I highly suggest parents not tell their toddler too many details about the plan for the day. As you come across unavailable rides, it won't matter because you didn't discuss it ahead of time. Jackson handled it very well considering the circumstance but many kids will have tantrums and that isn't fun to deal with for parents, the kid, or the other people nearby. Practice dealing with disappointment close to home instead of on what might be a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

My friend and I (I'm 59, she's 42) were so surprised how much we loved Cars Land. Neither of us know anything about Cars - I know a little but never saw it in English. It just seems to be slower and quieter compared to Pixar Pier and Avengers. We were the LAST two people to expect we'd enjoy it.

@@cijmo DCA is much better now than it was when it first opened. Cars Land really gave it a boost and Avengers Campus is raising it to the next level. Unfortunately there’s just not a lot of room in California for expansion but they really try to pack it all in.

@@cucug8324 Yeah, I hadn't been there since 2011 and everything was behind blinds. You basically followed a trail to one attraction, then had to follow another trail to the next one. I really like what it has become. I don't walk well but I wanted my friend to enjoy the evening so I just sat at the Starbucks at the circle and it was so pretty. The Edison lightbulbs and the characters were all out around there, it was Lunar new year, it was really great.

I was really surprised! I assumed DCA and DL were like WDW where there just are no slow days anymore. It would be so disappointing to pay so much to travel to Disney and experience all this and then so many things are closed (for both parks!).
