I actually started doing the brake lines on the crx . Had a couple of hours of video then decided to do the fuel system. In order to continue with the brake video I have to pull the engine back out which I'm not ready to do lol. Thank you for the comment, I'm really proud of the work I did on the fuel system 👍😁. Nice job, especially on the pipe bends. I recognize that Klein protractor, I use that alot on EMT conduit bends (i'm an electrician). I also have the smaller tubing bender tool and the flaring kit for the flare nuts.

You did a good job! Anyone knows doing fab work takes TIME. A whole lotta of it, And on top it making it look nice, even longer. I used to like doing work like this, because it got my creative brain cells firing. BTW look into a Hot One electric 220v heater for your shop if your in the market for a heater that wont break the bank.

Making all these parts is tough enough, freezing while doing it is a whole different story lol. I have my deisel heater which is good enough for this size garage. The problem here is the garage isn't insulated so I need to take care of that first. Insulating the garage is most important. 👍 After winter I'll get started on that .

While it's clean work, it all adds up to a pile of issues. I don't know where you live and if you intend to take it to the track, but copper fuel lines will not pass a safety inspection in most areas and will not pass tech at any track I know of. Secondly, copper is prone to work hardening and cracking when exposed to vibration and can react with petroleum based fuels and will result is a black tar-like substance that will eventually plug the fuel system. Typically you're allowed one of those double unions that you used per line and you should avoid them inside the passenger compartment, and the nylon lines are not allowed at all in the passenger compartment. Most track sanctioning bodies will not allow that amount of non-factory nylon fuel lines, to quote the NHRA: "All non-OEM fuel lines (including gauge and/or data recorder lines) must be metallic, steel braided, or NHRA-accepted “woven or woven-pushlock.” A maximum of 12 inches total (front to rear) of non-metallic or non-steel braided hose is permitted for connection purposes only." OEMs will not use it in areas where it will be exposed to heat and always cover it with some looming to protect it from abrasion. None of it is allowed to be mounted to the firewall (though those rules are written to prevent them from getting severed if the transmission/drivetrain comes apart and I could see them not being enforced for a front-wheel drive since there is no drivetrain going through there). Typically tracks won't allow fuel lines to run through the passenger compartment at all but will make exceptions for unmodified factory lines. Take your pick, that setup would not be allowed to run at any track, it's illegal in most areas on the street (it won't pass a safety inspection), and even if this was for off-road use only it is still dangerous and the copper will eventually damage the rest of your fuel system.

This was great to see. Have never seen this option done on a K swap and does make me strongly consider my whole -8 idea. Does it matter how level the fuel filter was? Or is that purely aesthetic?

It's just aesthetic , the filter can be completely up right and it'll still work fine.The fuel pump does all the hard work of pushing the fuel .There's nothing wrong with -8 or -6 lines. I just see everyone do it, and I wanted to try something different. I'd say AN lines are safer for someone who doesn't know how to make their own lines .

We got some snow, nothing major but good enough to make the roads very icey , I had to go pick up my kids and was driving very slow because my car wouldn't stop due to ice . I try to stay off the roads during winter , I have to go shovel our driveway lol 👍

@@themechanic6117 The worst feeling in the world is sliding on ice - out of control. I remember many years ago I was west bound on I-94 and I came up over a bit of a hill and it was all ice down the other side. Kinda makes your blood run cold :( . I made it though. :)

What is the name/type of the hard plastic pvc type fuel hose which fits in to the quick connectors? You can nearly buy the connectors everywhere but those hoses seem to be impossible to find to me thanks

It's called nylon fuel line, it's pretty easy to find online. Just make sure you buy the correct size for the fittings you're using

Jonathan- Regardless of how an Engineer designs a system- this last video points out obvious flaws, and your improvements & upgrades. However- personally, I would never run a fuel line *_inside_* the occupant cabin, especially along the door/rocker panel area! Imagine being T-boned, line ruptures? Compartment quickly floods with highly flammable & volatile fuel, and your Wife has a yard sale. Do what you want, it's your car. Just giving my opinion.

I like the idea of fuel and brake lines inside the cabin. It's why the crx has never had issues with rotted away brake or fuel lines nomatter how old the car.i see the concern but I don't have a issue with these lines inside the car considering that's how it came from honda .

@@themechanic6117 Ford Pinto "came from the Factory" with a deadly fuel tank setup, too. When I was young, my Father's side of the family were big into NASCAR, and a distant relative was a Racer. I spent many Summers at tracks, garages & races. I've seen many accidents, a few even fatal. A fuel line inside the cabin is bad enough- but a metal-to-nylon union, just under the seat- is a potentially horrible idea. Others here, praising your work is one thing, but they obviously don't know what can happen in a simple accident. Many of our old cars couldn't be produced today, just for NTSB safety violations alone. I hope you can take my advice as constructive criticism. Ask around, other _Professional's_ advice on this- instead of the Fanbase on KZbin.
