I do to but I don't think he will win an award from this project, it'll be too controversial. All the bad talking about Murphy on Twitter shows how people are going to react if more attention is brought to Dahmer. I just wish Evan the best because he's a hard worker and a talented actor.

The fact they lose themselves in their roles show how crazy acting actually is. When he said he barely remembered a scene.. insane
@Sakura77488
@Sakura77488 2 жыл бұрын
I think he doesn't remember because since they stopped filming and he could be himself again he's tried distancing himself from the role as much as he can (because of how heavy it was). I guess that might include suppressing some of the memories of filming it. And I think it's probably for the best. I want him to be happy and I think he should definitely do a comedy next time.

Yeah absolutely mad I agree with you I'm an actor myself so after the show when I first came on I was literally just sucked into the storytelling and the the role itself and actually when the show ended I actually stopped watching it after I was finished with it I literally just started acting and doing like this mannerisms cuz I'm an actor myself so I actually kind of manifest whatever his character was and made it my own and did other like imaginary characters to to make the character real and authentic but yeah it's it's crazy that when people lose themselves and I know from experience the rose good or the right is great or the characters good and your motivated by it then it's it's awesome

That really shows how much he got into his character, when you become someone else on stage or on camera you lose yourself entirely, so I feel like that's what happened. Like when I acted on stage I became my character so hard that I left the stage and couldn't remember anything.

The fact that he took time off after doing AHS:Cult because that season took a toll on him and I could see why his character in that season was very dark much darker than the other characters from past seasons. I think that's why when I heard he was playing Jeffrey Dahmer I thought the same thing was going to happen where he was just going to have to take a break from acting again so it's nice to see that he had the support of the cast helping him. I honestly hope he takes a break from doing dark roles for a bit maybe he should go back to doing more comedic roles or just lighter roles. He's a wonderful actor and he clearly puts everything he has into his roles but obviously that takes a toll. I would like to see him continue to grow as an actor into his old age.

It's disturbing to see Evan so quiet and with so much sadness in his eyes, it also hurts cause he has such a bubbly and happy personality. The fact that he doesn't remember filming most of the scenes, the way he stayed in that dark place until the very end, really speaks of his commitment to his work but I hope he can get out of it fully. It will probably always be with him but, just like his mind tried to keep him safe during the making off the show by pushing down those moments, I hope he's able to get out of it safely. Love how all the women kept trying to make him at least smile and how he told Niecy that he loved her, like, 'that wasn't me, this is me and I really like you cause you ARE a really likable lady'

@@___med.20 He explains here, towards the end I think, that he didn't want to get in and out, in and out of character cause he was locked in on Dahmer's "mind set" and that's why he wouldn't talk to Niecey and why he doesn't remember filming most of the show. His mind was kinda trying to protect him and he was there but at the same time he wasn't. Also, he has had dark characters haunt him before, not Tate cause I believe he said it was fun to play him but Kai Anderson from AHS had a similar impact on him as Jeffrey did. He seems happy now tho

Yeah! I'm glad to find someone else who still remembers this scene. I couldn't stop thinking about it when I finished watching the show. For me, this scene is the key! If the real Dahmer had been able to share his thoughts and sexual orientation openly and freely in his teens, and someone had taken him seriously, 17 souls could have been probably saved. It's probably naive to think like that, but as Richard Lee quotes ·"If you save one soul, your work has been done" In this case, no work was done in advance and That's the (only) saddest part for Jeff Dahmer.

As someone that’s watched countless serial killer documentaries, listens to true crime every day, this series was so heavy even I had to take breaks from watching it. It made you feel like you were in the room with dahmer and his victims. That’s not easy to do and it took the right recipe of casting, producing, directing, set design, etc to come together and make it feel so realistic. I specifically appreciate it because it gave a glimpse into dahmer’s childhood, which interests me in particular as I’m obsessed with finding out the WHY of serial killers. It helped me understand more about human psychology because it’s based in his actual life. The nature vs nurture argument. This shows how it’s caused by both. But god I wish they never destroyed his brain.

I think a reason why this show became so incredibly successful is because it gave every single person a chance to step outside of their own self and pick up multiple perspectives. Into mental health, into the human mind, into true human behavior, society shortcomings and everything in between. It brings up the question of are people born evil, or are they taught? We heard the victims stories, we saw where people were let down, and we saw where someone went wrong when maybe. Just maybe. He could have been saved. We won’t know. But its the fact that people from across the globe for 10 episodes got to step outside of their lives and see how different the world is. Accepting the reality that even their next door neighbor could be the next. And the entire cast was simply phenomenal.

I love Niecy so much. She is true, honest. She appreciates people and speaks from the bottom of her heart. Unlike the most of the world (cause it so cool right now to be a bad bitch, reserved and fab). Actors and actresses being asked about the work they've done often tend to repeat that "it was such a great experience to work with those people, the cast has been amazing and I'm really grateful to be a part of this project". But in her case you can literally feel her gratefulness and engagement in what she is saying. I wish everybody had their own Niecy in their life. It terrified me to the core not because I was terrified of the character or terrified of bieng a victim of someone like that. It terrified me cs of how much of real life, real personal traits was in that show. I was mostly scared of my self. I am a master at isolation, don't like having to deal with people, i mostly live in my head and live in my own world most of the time . There was so much in this show that was made relatable to me and I probably had an episode of depression halfway through the show and had to take a break. I promised myself I will not go back to watching it but it was such a great show I had to finish it and I'm glad I did cs the second half was quite uplifting in a way with everything about victims and their families etc. I would suggest a strong trigger warning for people with mental illness watching this show. Hits straight home guys. It's too good it's just too real. I've seen almost every horror, gory movie ever made. Maybe they thought no one would pay that much attention to Dahmer because it happened over 30 years ago; little do they know. Nobody knew it would blow up like it did but it goes to show you, people do want to know about Dahmer, why he did what he did and his impact on society overall. Evan, thank you! It was an amazing role, no actor has made such an impression on me in a long time. You just got me on the couch. Big applause for great work. You should get all possible rewards :) Fingers crossed!

At 28:01 when Ryan explains the set design of the apartment complex, I immediately thought of the very inception of backrooms. That set gave me creeps but at the same time made me very curious of how eerie it would have been to live in those apartments. Absolutely incredible work by the production designers and creative directors.
