There are also several European standards (metric) for different fit of the hole-axle combination. DIN or NEN. A whole range of combinations to chose from depending or your specific mechanical requirement in combination with the size of your components.

Great video! Looks amazing, I can't wait for the next video. One question - is the c-clip hitting the gear teeth @ 9:57? Is that exacerbating the stiffness of the actuation?

Great point David! I didn´t notice it. I´ll check tomorrow. Probably removing all the c-clips doesn´t affect anything, and less parts is always better. The press fit of the gears is so strong that they don´t move a bit anyway.

That’s cool. I don’t understand the point of the circlips on the ends. It seems to me the gear parts should be a rigid connection to the bars or else both sides won’t move together. Or are you going for actual redundancy (Martin, take note) with these? They do look kind of cool.

Not sure what to do yet, to be honest. Circlips looked reasonable at first, but since the gears are press fitted so hard, they aren´t needed anymore. For now, what I´m doing is to rush to a test while taking notes of everything. The goal is to probe the concept as soon as possible. Then check the list and make the changes needed, and circlips are in the list for sure.
