I just looked it up it’ll cost about $ 0.30 to 1.20 to dehydrate fruits, varying because of the numerous different types of air fry appliance. This is still cheaper than store bought. Still a better option since you know what ingredients you used and how your food was prepped

Hillary A.Q. It’s a really useful storage option as well, because it reduces the bulk of the food down so significantly. I dehydrated 50 pounds of potatoes a couple of weeks ago. They went from being 50 pounds to fit into five Ziploc bags, the larger freezer ones. And I could easily hold all of them in one hand. Onions and herbs dehydrate down smaller again, as to root vegetables. During the pandemic, I got Covid. I had it for a year. My freezer died at the same time. I was just so sick that I could only save a little bit of my frozen food. This may become more relevant in the near future. The government says that before the end of this summer, we can expect food shortages and energy shortages. If we’re keeping our food in the freezer, Energy shortages are not our friend. Having dehydrated food means being able to store it safely, even where there are energy shortages. If a person were to pair that with a ceramic filter that has a natural particle filter mounted immediately above it, a person would have clean water, and excellent quality food to get by.

My GE microwave from 2005 finally crapped out. At first kzbin.infoUgkxO_Bc204MGjxDl87cOKcdgaRhzSqGmv_g I was unsure because I was looking for something with the exact same features. Found it with this one. Interior space cavity was large, but the outside was smaller than my old one. I love the one-button push for 1-6 minutes, and the 30 second add or 30 second start. and MOST IMPORTANTLY, I love how you can adjust the power level during cooking. The reviews said it could not be done, but this marked all the other boxes. and happy to say, it does. I can hit 1 minute start, and change the power level from 10 to 5, 30 seconds in, without interruption. my favorite feature!

Riper or greener? Those are opposite things??

Most people use these if they are into foodies or prepper. But if you food that goes to waste. Its a good way to save money by dehydrating foods.

Green bananas aren't ripe. They turn more yellow and get brown spots when they ripen.

Yeah, so which one do you think it better? I would assume ripe, but sounds like he suggests the opposite.

Some people like their bananas with a bit of green on the skin,especially if trying to avoid the overly ripe sugary flavor.
@samrichardson66053 жыл бұрын
@@patricen7157 agreed, that's the only reason why I suggested lemon juice or at turmeric mix, that way you get that more greenish or yellowish look after you dehydrate them.

I just bought one of these. Thanks for the demo. The expansion metal grate is covering around 25% of the area beneath the banana. Im going to try flipping them at the 4 hour mark. This should dry them out faster and give them a different texture.

They were not gummy! As I mentioned, the longer you leave them in the crispier they will get. Turned out really good, with good flavor too. Good luck.

So you said the riper the bananas the better and then said it would be good to get them more green. Anytime I have riper bananas, any green is definitely gone. Could you please clarify?
@RandomReviewsHowTos2 жыл бұрын
I guess this is confusing. I think mushy bananas would be harder to dry out, so the riper when you buy them. In terms of cooking, we always say riper is when they are spotted and brown, making them more flavorful. For dehydration, use green.

I would use green bananas, cut them a bit thinner and spray a little oil and add some BBQ seasoning, then do them on a bit higher temperature, air fry them. YUM, I think! I love those thai banana chips, maybe they’ll be a bit like those? Mmmmmmmm... ☺️😋

I think you should have Air-fryed them at 350 temperature for 10 minutes max. Microwave will keep them soft, but air-fryer should harden them quickly. I think your air-fryer is not correct choice for this task.
