I'd love a series about you cooking foreign food! If you want to make another Dutch one, go for one of the stamppotten, split pea soup or Dutch apple pie. About this dish, kapsalon means hairdressing salon in Dutch. It was 'invented' when a hairdresser in Rotterdam went to a shawarma store and said "just throw all the ingredients in one dish so it's easier to eat". They did that and he kept ordering it. Others picked up on it and also started ordering it, and eventually it spread nationwide. Usually you won't find it with beef here unless you make it at home. If you buy it it's usually either pork (which is really weird considering shawarma is a Turkish dish and muslims don't eat pork) or lamb, and often there's a chicken version as well. I'd like a bit more meat myself, but I have to say your version looks bloody delicious and the beef is intriguing! And your first pronunciation @ 0:07 is spot on!

I'm not just talking shawarma stores (in the supermarket you won't find lamb, just pork and chicken), but even in shawarma stores it's not guaranteed to be lamb if it's advertised as lamb. Did you take out the stems of the tomato? It does not look like you did. A lot of people freak out if there is a lot of oil and it starts on fire. So if I am doing anything that I think may start on fire I have a lid around so you can put it on top and not have a big problem.

Looks close. In the Netherlands it's fries with the meat on top, then the sauce, mostly garlic sauce with a little bit of sambal sauce then slices of young gouda cheese and then in the oven for melting the cheese, and afterward the greens. But it's realy good and absolutely unhealthy. 😍😍

Hello! Sunny is one of the few KZbinr I subscribed to, who after long, long breaks thus always announced to post videos on KZbin again and then after a very short time again disappear for a long, long time without a word. Of course! Even KZbinr have a private life and I would be the last who would not know that the private life can contain some nasty surprise, so that hobbies can become secondary. No question about it. But if you have a KZbin channel for so long and have such loyal fans over years and years who put up with it and are happy about every sign of life (like me) and who don't want to have any other social media accounts.... (Like me) Would that really be too much to ask to briefly write "Hey, for personal reasons I'll be away from KZbin for an extended period of time as of now, but I'll be back!"? I live near Winterswijk (on the German side of the border) and am very often in the Netherlands, but I have never heard of this. Dutch fries are the best in the world and Kibbling tastes very good too, but what Sunny has cooked there looks very, very tasty! I'm back in the Netherlands tomorrow and ask my friends there why I have been deprived of this until now!
