Making EVA Chainmail Pauldrons from The Witcher 3

So I am super excited to get to try some EVA foam chainmail from Ben Eadie and decided to make the pauldrons from the Kaer Morhen armor in The Witcher 3. Now that it is out of the way, I guess that means a full build of this armor will be coming with it :). In this build, I used 2mm EVA foam chainmail from FoamArmory, 6 mm & 2 mm What the Foam from Cosplay Apprentice 4 mm EVA foam, velcro, 1-inch elastic banding, contact cement, super glue, Plasti Dip, spray paint, Plaid FX acrylic paint. You may also need the following tools: a heat gun, a Dremel with various bits, a wood burner, and an Xacto knife or box cutter. I understand the "dirty it up" idea is more not only more accurate, but more real world as well. STILL, can't help but like your original a little better. Just the stark pop for color contrast of leather and steel. Awesome use of some great material. *~Cheers~*

I have a question, is the foam you use rather sturdy? Or can it collapse easily?

The base for the pauldrons is What the Foam. It is super dense and is very sturdy. It is not like normal EVA. The plasti content is a little higher, it's almost like EVA met worbla.

I decided to use this as a basis for armor for an original Sith costume I'm working on. I tinkered with the design a bit, omitting the chainmail and love the result. drive.google.com/file/d/1GA4-Qk_QPolmdw-z-viphiLEbzlmJyrl/view?usp=sharing My only issue is that I decided to not use the strapping that you used and am having a difficult time trying to get the shoulders secured for wearing. I also didn't quite understand the way you strapped the arms to the shoulders and retained the fit. I'm fairly new to EVA Foam building and would love some help figuring this out! Love this channel!

I just added straps with velcro on the underside so that I could adjust them. The elastic that I attached to the biceps is what keeps them from sliding off. Kami Cosplay, Punished Props and Odin makes also have videos on armor builds, with various methods of attachment.
