Making Friends in the Furry Fandom

I made my first local furry friend from Facebook during my high school days (15 years ago). He's the one who introduced me to the furry fandom and I got interested after some time looking at the culture and artworks. I began to make more new connections as I attend fur cons, fur meets, online events/stream, joining furry Discord server, even regular hangouts too! Just recently I met a very close friend of mine during a furcon this year, I started chatting with him in an app called Howlr (now it's gone and Barq is what people uses today). No words can describe how happy we both get to meet each other in person after 3 years of online chatting. He's a sweet and precious dumb wuff hehe~ So to anyone who is looking for new friends, just be yourself and continue on the journey. To think I was a shy, not so social type of person back then, looking at the changes I went through is just wholesome and amazing!

I’ve been using barq for quite a long time. I don’t really talk on public servers cuz I prefer irl people. I have some friends on vrchat and I try to join them all but half of them don’t respond to my requests 😕

VRChat ended up being how I met most of my friends in the fandom. It's great because I've met many people there who I then get to meet up with in person at conventions and hangout.
