You asked, so here it is! This is one of my favorite crate projects: an easy rustic, farmhouse-inspired end table. I love crate DIY projects. They can be made very quickly with no tools, and it's the perfect way to organize any room. This DIY could be used as a side table, in a bathroom, in a bedroom as an end table, or even as lego organization (like it is here...ha!) I hope you enjoy! Huge fan of the rustic farmhouse style! I have several of these smaller crates that we stained and used as centerpieces at our wedding. We were able to stick 4 mason jars inside for water and lots of beautiful pink and white roses. Now we're in need of some side tables so I think this will be a wonderful budget friendly choice. Hi Kathryn, I recently retired and am downsizing for my move to a smaller apartment. I don't know how to say this but you have just saved my budget. I wanted to start retirement with a more cohesive look, new colors, new style, etc. Never mind what it would cost. In fact, I was ready to give away an entertainment center and dresser, each costing over $750, all for a different look! After watching some of your videos, I realized how wrong I am to even think about giving away my furniture. If I need something different, my furniture can be refinished. I have never shopped at Dollar Tree or a thrift store, but I'm going to give it a shot. I'm not the best shopper in the world, but necessity is calling my name loud and clear. I did something just like this last year to use as a night stand in our guest bedroom. Add a lamp, some magazines/books, candle, clock and a jewelry dish and makes a great spot for guests’ things when visiting!

This project is great. Glue/liquid nails are really a terrific option for those of us who can't use nails or other hardware for various reasons. Thanks for the information. Your furniture piece is lovely. It would look great mounted on the wall for display or add a lightweight door for storage.

This is super cute and looks incredibly easy! I especially like those fabric-lined baskets you have inside them. To make it sit off the ground a little, you could buy little wooden feet at the hardware store or in the wood section of the craft store. That way it wouldn't make the room seem bulky (having more of the floor showing can make your space look a little bigger), you could clean under it without moving the whole thing, and run cords underneath. :) Ps. Carson is SO stinking cute!!!

Tip, if you add a few decorative rocks (dollar tree has lots of bags of rocks) to the bottom of the vase around the bulbs of the flowers, it will look even more natural. Many people who "force" bulbs to blossom in doors use small rocks at the base for the roots to grow around.
