I was recently asked if one could make wig caps out of paper mache and although my answer was "not ideally", I thought the best way to answer is to show how I make my wig caps. This method of wig making creates waterproof washable wigs and there are no smelly toxic glues involved.
I’ve filmed a lot of material over the past year, but between my work and Japanese studies the task of editing is feels so daunting. So I’m trying to make series of shorter videos instead of a single long video. I hope this makes it easier for you as well, as you can find that step in the tutorials you need more easily. Please let me know which you prefer in the comments below. Please like and subscribe to support the channel!
To learn more about my art dolls or to order a doll wig (I can do any doll I have in my collection, so ask, or you can send me a head to model the wig on) visit my website: www.inamoratadolls.com

Emilia, I sincerely hope you return to post more doll videos! I am especially curious how you created your afro-textured wigs and what materials you used. Your wig making videos are exceptional and unmatched as far as I've seen anywhere so far.

The fact the you are sharing your knowledge with us is amazing your are very generous, short video or long edited or not I’m sure they would be amazing ( I would love to see the hole process of the wigs making and the type of hair you use) thank you ever so much

Thank you. Good point about the materials. I use only natural fibers like alpaca and mohair (hot glue gun would melt artificial fibers). I should definitely mention that in the next video!

Thank you for your video tutorial. I have done wigs with both wefts and loose hair, using clear silicone, or with clear craft glue. Today I made a wig using your hot glue method, and though no where near as good as your work, I think it came out pretty good for a first time. Plus mine was a 29cm lady, with a tiny 9cm head. Very hard to find good wigs for them.

OMG, that intro was amazing and the video tutorial was really helpful. I have some old dolls that had to lose their hair due to glue seepage and frying from previous owners.

Thank you for this first video. I'm very interested. I prefer longer video just to have all reference about a specific tutorial just in a sigle place. Thank you for asking! :)

Thanks for the feedback. I prefer watching long videos myself but I've noticed that filmed material keeps piling up and I never seem to have time to edit it. Watching through the filmed material and editing it takes 100 times more time than the actual creation or the bit that ends up in the video. And since my KZbin isn't monetized yet it definitely doesn't pay. I'm sure it'll all get easier when we learn to make videos properly. It's all a bit trial and error now. I'll gather the series into playlists to make them easier to watch.

Thank you. I was putting on makeup to do the facetime intro and poked myself in the eye with the mascara brush, making it all hurty and pink. Hence no directly speaking to the camera this time. 😂 Glad my hands suffice! ❤️

You and your work are incredible!!! My vote would be for shorter videos like this as I'd imagine they'd take less time to edit for you?
@EmiliaCouture

Thank you for the feedback and encouragement. The short ones do take less time and it's easier to find enough time to do them between school and work. So far I've been only able to make the long videos during holidays.

Thank you. One trick is to always use the same sculpt head so the hairline fits perfectly. All Inamorata have same size heads but the differences in Asian and African skull shapes are big enough to make the hairline land differently.

Thank you, can’t wait for part 2, will practice this step for now, Do you use the hot glue to shape the hair as well? Or is there another glue to order ?
@EmiliaCouture

I'll use hot glue for attaching the hairs too. It's really simple and easy.

I often use hotglue for wigs, but for some reason have never made a qig cap like this... I think I will try this the next time as this goes so much faster! (I also very much understand your struggle of "recording is fine, but editing, ugh!" because I'm the same...)
@EmiliaCouture
@EmiliaCouture 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment and sharing my pain about the editing. I'm perfectly fine filming stuff but finding time to watch through the material is so daunting. Let me know how the hot glue cap compares to your previous methods. I find the flexibility great. The cap isn't hard at all but holds shape well.
@Alayses
@Alayses 2 жыл бұрын
@@EmiliaCouture totally understand that. I think i have footage for 4 or 5 videos ready, but editing, voice over, ugh 😂😭 who has time for that! I just used your method for a wig today because the mohair was super fluffy and I thought being able to submerge it in water would be quite helpful. It went well, though I struggled a bit at the parting because my weft got rather bulky. And I couldn't remove the clingfoil from inside, I think it merged with the glue 😂 I'll see what it looks like tomorrow when it's dried! So far i like It! Will compare with my method tomorrow

Hi Emilia I just tried this. Is the plastic wrap suppose to melt with the cap? Maybe my glue gun to hot? Thank you for this tutorial it really helps🤍

If shorter videos are easier for you I would be happy with that. Thank you for this idea. I cannot wait to try it. I am interested in seeing g your method for attaching the hair. Do you use hot glue for this as well?😊❤❤❤😘😂
@EmiliaCouture

Yes, I use the hot glue for making wefts and then melt them on instead of adding glue to keep things tidy. But that's the next video.

what kind of fabric or what is the name of the fabric that you use???
@EmiliaCouture

It's just net fabric with two way elasticity. Netting? Fishnet? I'm sorry I don't know a better name for it. A word probably exists but English is not my first language.
