Awesome! Very interesting video too, question, is it possible to use sulfuric acid instead hydrochloric acid? Let’s say my hydrochloric acid maybe expire, I’ve never opened it for years, meaning to, never got the chance, busy! Plus it was kept in the garage inside a plastic container cooler as well was.

I think you can, but just to be sure ,I recommend you do a test on a small quantity, to be 100% sure

Any ideas how to convert the Povidone into something else useful? How would you go about unsaturate it?
@jam_kemist3986 Жыл бұрын
Idk it's a polymer so you would first need to depolymerise it which is quite often a mess, but what do you mean about unsaturate it ?
@petevenuti7355 Жыл бұрын
@@jam_kemist3986 something to create a lot of double bonds possibly even aromatize the rings , conjugated backbone it just reminded me superficially of a conductive plastic.

After adding the HCl a yellow sol is formed with brown precipitate , later i used kmno4 as oxidizer i saw the solution turn colorless and brown ppt was obt on adding further Kmno4 , it seems like redued kmno4 like Mno2 , how will i get iodine 😢

@@samriddhapaul5827 it's harder to do with KMnO4(if it's possible at all idk) because the stoechiometry is diferant so easy to overshoot it. I think you have to recycle your iodine or try a new batch, good luck ! :)

You can do this add hydrochloric acid to potassium iodide and then add hydrogen peroxide then wait until it drys and then you get a mixture between potassium chloride and iodine and then you boil the crystals and collect the vapors and you get elemental iodine

I don't think boilling the solution is a good idea but this is another method
