@Defensewhiz3 жыл бұрын
True, only the whites are used and then a boxed/carton nutmilk of choice to further reduce the fat (about a cup vs the 13.5 oz of canned coconut milk. All of us started out with this recipe though and all of us were very surprised that we ended up loving it… Cool thing is that you can change the flavor profile and leave out the cocoa powder and add different extracts. Banana almond butter is my personal fave.

Use your instant pot to make the eggs, it takes about 6 minutes start to finish, and you then dump in the ice water, and the peeling is a breeze. After overnight refrigeration the egg smell completely goes away. It is delicious topped with whipped cream.

@@gigivarnum oh I LOVE my pressure cooker! I’m on my 3rd in the past 10 yrs lol I usually do about 10 for Hubby for the week. Pour about 1 cup of water in your instant pot pot, set either a rack in the bottom and set your eggs on it. Or I use a wire mesh colander from Amazon that has little feet on it. Super easy then to take the eggs out and sit them in the ice bath. So once eggs are in the pot. Close the lid, seal the vent and do high pressure for 8 mins. Once the 8 mins is done, let it naturally release for 2 mins then do a manual release. Once the pressure has released, remove the eggs and immediately put them in a bowl of ice water. Let sit for 7-8 mins. Drain water from bowl and shake the eggs good in the bowl. I just sit my strainer in the bowl and then just shake the eggs in it when they are done. Shells usually just peel right off. I teach classes and have a personal group on cooking with air fryers & pressure cookers. Send me a msg if you’d like more info. 💜

SUPER EASY PEELING HARD BOILED EGGS. Sooooo easy but i didn’t learn this until I was 60+. 1. Bring water to a rolling boil. 2. Using a slotted spoon add eggs to the boiling water. Doesn’t matter if eggs are cold but if you are doing very many cold eggs will cool the water a bit. 3. Simmer for about 15 minutes. 4. Drain and shake pan to crack shells. 5. Cover with cold tap water 6. Peel immediately. Shells will come off easily and often practically fall off. Really!

For perfectly-boiled, easy-to-peel eggs: let eggs sit out and reach room temperature. Bring water to medium boil and gently place eggs in pot to cover eggs by an inch. Set timer for 12 minutes (for medium-hard boil). After 12 minutes, Immediately remove from boiling water and place in ice water bath, set timer for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove. To peel: gently crack shell all over (including the ends) and then gently roll the egg between your palm and the counter, including end over end to loosen the shell. Eggs will peel easily. If storing in refrigerator, leave unpeeled to retain moisture. Voila! Love your channel, you girls brighten my day!

Maria's newest version of the recipe calls for you to cook the eggs in a frypan instead of hard boiling. So much easier & faster and it ELIMINATES ALL or most of the egg smell. The PSMF version uses egg whites (no egg yolks) and the Keto version uses the entire egg. I use coconut milk in the carton (not the can) as it's a lot lower fat and heat the milk when I want to eat the pudding warm, otherwise I use cold milk and pop it in the frig after I make it. I also cut back quite a bit on the cinnamon. I love it!

Okay, so about a month ago, I made this recipe. I know about Maria, but this recipe slipped by me, and your reaction made it worth the try. My first batch of this was surprisingly Awesome. I followed along with you, but I accidentally shook in too much cinnamon, but other than that I was pleasantly surprised and so was my non keto friend who tried it. It came out firm and creamy and rich and delicious. We had it with whipped cream. So, after that I decided the volume of the finished product was a bit more than I could eat on my own. so I went to Maria's Page and downloaded the recipe so I didn't have to watch the video each time, halved all the ingredients according to the list ( 5 eggs, 5 oz almond milk, 1/4c sweetener, 1/8 c cocoa, a teaspoon vanila, pinch of salt * a shake of cardamom!) and the second time I made it, it came out runny. Other than halving the ingredients, I don't know what I did differently. My third attempt, I thought adding a bit of heavy cream would help thicken it. DO NOT DO IT! It had bits of chocolate butter through out from the blender whipping it so vigorously. It was so unpleasant that I actually threw it away, I feel so ashamed. My fourth attempt, (and now I'm getting frustrated because a coworker wants me to bring this to the work social lunch) and I use regular sugar, because they aren't low carb at all, and follow the directlions exactly, by half, and it still came out runny. So my mind flickers and I remember! 4:25 OMG. The Cocoa powder is making it thicker! It has to be! The only difference , besides cutting the volume was the first time I followed your instructions and each subsequent attempt I followed the written instructions from the webpage. Has anyone else noticed this?

LOL When you said you were going to try it, I spontaneously shouted NO! at my phone, and startled my hubby. 😂 Also, I know that some people add a single packet of instant coffee or espresso powder to punch up the chocolate flavor. You two are very brave, and thank you for once again taking one for the team. I appreciate you, so much! 🤗❤️🥰

I saw a "kitchen myths" video by a chef (I wish I could recall who it was!) and he said you shouldn't let the eggs warm up with the water; instead put cold eggs right into boiling water and they'll be easier to peel. It seems to work!

We have chickens (30 of them) and storage it is recommended by that chef to do that. I have boiled eggs every which way and the worst was cold eggs into boiling water…. Did he add baking soda to the water? That is fairly common in order to peel them better.

I find the shells split open and you have eggs whites through out the water…and nothing left inside the shells! I use the super terrific DASH egg cooker! Extra easy! 🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚 Gladys🇨🇦Toronto

Put the eggs in boiling water and take them out immediately when done and put in a ice bath. Put in a cup shake up and peel. They come out perfect.

I'd love to see more recipes that don't require kitchen appliances. I'm a minimalist, so I don't own blenders or mixers of any kind (or even a toaster or coffee pot lol). Love your channel!

To easily peel boiled eggs: 1) Place bowl of cold water (enough to cover all the eggs) in freezer 2) Bring pot of water (enough to cover the eggs) to boil 3) Gently lower eggs into boiling water for desired amount of time 4) Pour boiling water out of pot, pour or scoop extremely hot eggs into icy bowl of water 5) Wait 5 minutes (+/-) or until cool enough to handle 6) Peel eggs (I like to crack both ends, then roll back and forth on it's side while on a paper towel) 7) Rinse This will make very fresh or older eggs extremely easy to peel every time. By dropping them into already boiling water, then while hot dropping them into freezing water, the white is "shocked" away from the membrane inside the shell. Probably works for a reason more scientific than that, but I don't know what it is, just that it works, always.

Always add a good pinch of salt to water, while cooking eggs to assist in peeling afterwards. Or, a splash (a tsp or so) of white or apple cider vinegar to water, will also make peeling easier.
