I hope this can help a student out there Sorry if am bragging. I am one of the top leaners at my school In the past few months I couldn't even focus due to depressing and anxiety Didn't have anyone to talk to because it's still indeed a taboo I African homes It affected my marks badly I mean really bad So now I balance my mental health with my academic coz I struggled from fatigue and had to spend days without studying Which forced me to write an exam without revising Let's continue raising awareness coz mental health is still considered as white people thing

The fact that so many of us relate with Abi and Mpho's stories - they are us, and we are them. My maternal Grandmother is one of the biggest advocates of mental health in my life and I've since returned that favour now that she's in her old age. One of the stories from her that stands out for me was of one womxn who had an affair when her husband was away eGoli, the affair resulted in a child. Now, every time that the husband would come home, he'd chase the wife away to the other man's home. The wife would go to her parents', and they'd chase her back to her marital home where she wasn't wanted by the husband. So, every morning when the husband was home, the wife leaves early to "wait" outside the other man's home, then come back later at night. Later in her life, this womxn started "losing her mind" and never got the psychological help she needed until her passing.

@@jhadebredenkamp97 How else wouldn't I have struggled to comprehend what you wrote there with that English? No one is putting words into your mouth, you know exactly what you meant by saying, "Shudu's story is so tired gurl. Next". How do you move from that, to saying, what you meant is that the person who's telling the story is tired? Come on, fix your grammar before accusing anyone of putting words into your mouth.
