I never charge enough for finishing doors. They always take longer than I plan. Especially if they need stain. Thanks for the videos.

Looks beauty Handyman..as always! I use a big, older 2spd kitchen hood fan, hardwired with a 4”insulated exhaust to outside, no filter tho, lol…for my saws here in 🇨🇦..it gets chilly in winter, but works like a charm The ‘Safety Sally’s’ stuff ..always gives me a good chuckle 😂

Great Content, depending on the age of your furnace, those high Merv Filters will smoke the furnace fan ! 😮

That price you charge is insane. Sure it takes a lot of your time because you don’t do this for a living, meaning that’s not all you do. Amish could build a door like that for a fraction of the time and money with superior craftsmanship.

Amish country is the cheapest place to live in the country. Where I live is like a different planet compared to where the Amish work.

I make 1400 profit for roof repairs. 5-8 hours of work. And I’m slammed. Roof repair is so below what I actually “do” but it makes a killing so I do it

I doubt it would be a fraction of the cost. Even online places that specialize in custom doors charge $500+ for a red-oak, 3 panel shaker. Add another $300 for shipping, and that's just naked wood. Any stain and finish is extra. Plus, he mentioned the measuring and install, which would easily add a few more hundred to the cost. Amish or not, nobody is doing that job end-to-end for less than $1500-2000. I live in the Philly metro, which isn't cheap, but it's close to the biggest Amish area (Lancaster, PA.) Amish woodwork can be amazing quality, but I've never considered it cheap. Maybe that was true decades ago, but the secret is out, and they know they can charge a premium for the stuff they build. Amish are cheap(ish) for the manual labor jobs like site preparation/concrete/roofing. Like the Midatlantic's version of the, ahem, 'Southern tourists', but with higher quality and actual, registered businesses that can be held accountable for screw ups.

Why don’t you just install a 220 plug next to your panel and make you a 220 cord to reach where you need it to, then you won’t have to always take that dead front off the panel, just saying
