In November I picked up a 1978 John Deere 316K that was non running. Needing a gas tank, steering wheel, battery and rear tires. I got it running, replaced the tank, steering wheel and a new seat. This thing starts up easy and has Ags on the rear. It's my dedicated mowing machine and it's been slowly getting TLC to bring it back to a good looking machine. I love it. I really want a 318 eventually.

That is so cool. The 318 is really nice and the power steering makes it much more user friendly, but there is something special about the old Kohler machines. I'm glad you were able to get that 316k up and going again!

@@nicksatrangequipment I've heard that as well about the power steering. I picked mine up for $400. Weirdly enough my brother picked one up the week prior unknown to each other till I send him a picture of mine lol. I agree the kohler engines are nice but damn they shake 😆

@@iowafox2206 Yes they do! Haha. That is a crazy coincidence.

The difference is the years they went from standard size to metric

@@KenHorton-h6k Oooh, ok. That would make sense. Thanks for the comment.

One more thing if your going to be using it for winter you'll be having a cold blooded harder starting machine. I speak from experience the kohler k341 16hp are a cold blooded engine. The few I've had (8) all started harder in the winter months if not in a heated garage.

That is good to know. I have not used mine in the cold yet.

Paint the fender and try to match the hood
@nicksatrangequipment2 ай бұрын
@@scottbrandt3814 I like that idea. The hood is a pretty cool color.
