Why I love Mario Kart (especially MK Wii) is because of how enjoyable it is to drive! Its not like other racing games where the focus is on graphics and realism but on how FUN it is to play.

Awesome! It's really cool how you did the different terrain modifiers with scriptable objects. Also glad you put in Luigi's mansion :) It does really look and feel like a Mario Kart game! And my favorite mechanic is probably the blue shell. Fun to use, but not to be used on :D

Petro Šiūkšlinė he cant do the get hub you need 2 carts and character animations for textures the blocks and mouths Lakitu and more and the maps the. U can use the code very hard...

@@Curriial he can? All you have to do is just download the models and textures and put it on top of the game. For the animations, those will work if you get the models from the same source.

@@thechosenone729 so you are saying that copyright also count for what people do at home as hobby ? i'm pretty sure you can release something like this as a free code for educational purposes, as long as all assets are homemade by someone and the code is made by himself, only directly taking from the finished product from nintendo would be a copyright violation. or selling something that looks like it. but releasing a code you made yourself and making fanmade assets available for free is in no way against the copyright laws.

Since it's their IP you really can't do anything to do with it and if they tell you to quit project you'll have to. It's sad but this is the world we live in...

Yoshi Circuit is actually from Mario Kart Double Dash which came before Mario Kart Wii. It was brought back among a handful of other retro tracks that have been a staple of the series since the DS version in Mario Kart 8 (Deluxe)

This is very neat! AFAIK the Mario karts slide a little when going round corners; did you implement those more advanced physics where grip is lost the faster you're going? Looks great, sir, looking forward to the next one!

Thank you. Yes in my kart stats I have a value for grip. While the grip value itself doesn't change, it gets mutiplied with the current speed, meaning the faster you go the more you will slide outwards.

how do you detect if your kart is moving, to see if you can steer?

Basically in script I have the current velocity of the kart (forward momentum) and multiply this with the steering input (-1 to 1). 'forward velocity * streering input * Time.deltaTime' With 0 velocity meaning you can't steer. And then make the turning angle sharper up to a caped speed. I hope that askes you question.

@@justgamesin7281 I don't know how you are approaching this, but I was also making a Mario kart 8 game on my channel, but I rotate the kart depending on the horizontal axis, and apply a forward force, so it works like that. In your case, you can try this maybe: Vector3 myangle = 'yourVector3' - transform.position; Vector3 angle = Vector3.Cross(transform.forward, myangle); dir = Vector3.Dot(angle, transform.up); and then you just add dir to the y rotation of the car. I did not test this and it may or may not work.
