I must say, I’ve been watching these KZbin’s since October last year and although Lydia’s style is a bit more classic than mine I appreciate it so much, It’s really inspired me to invest in classics, take care of my things, become more organised and also celebrate being dressed up as an act of self love and appreciation and not being ott. I watch the videos when I’m feeling down or just in a rainy day on the sofa as a treat. I find it therapeutic and soothing and just uplifting. I never miss one. I’m also obsessed with her tailor and getting bespoke pieces made with such love and care. How gorgeous. I just really enjoy this content as some uplifting inspiring escapism ❤

Here I am, bundled up and freezing in -30 degree weather, marveling at how winter looks in your part of the world. It's so fascinating how seasons paint such different pictures depending on where you are-it’s truly beautiful when you stop to reflect on it. While I can’t help but wish my winter looked a bit more like yours, Evergreen has reminded me to cherish the unique beauty of my own winters, a magic that no other place quite has💛

Just wanted you to know that I took your advice and went for my very first walk in the snow in Florida. Yes, you read that correct Florida. We got about 9 inches of snow last night here in the panhandle our first snowstorm in about 100 years but back to the walk it was fantastic Walking in the cold weather was amazing and thank you for writing about it in your book Evergreen ❤❤❤

Lydia, just be yourself as I love all your content and lifestyle video’s. It’s not a competition and you don’t have to apologise for anything. Like you said about Megan, we just enjoy your story. It must be so hard sometimes trying to think of new things to show people, but basically I think people follow you because they like you. Yes you. X Loved the pantry update.

I'm afraid that when it comes to perimenopause, you can eat the cleanest diet, exercise, quit alcohol and cosmetics and you still end up with some awful symptoms - once the hormones start to decline and/ or flactuate, you need THEM replaced. On the top of it all, we were lied that intermittent fasting is good for women over 40 and HIIT is the way to manage weight (NO! creates more stress and cortisol circulating in our bodies causing weight gain), and that fat is bad for us (NO! It's not! We need good fats!). So many things I learnt since entering perimenopause! Why nobody told me those things??? Lydia, enjoy your 30s! 😊

My weight was really stable until late 40's early 50's, I've managed to lose 1.5 stone and maintain it doing the 5:2 I don't even have to do it all the time and of course getting active helps too 🧘‍♀🙏. Lentils, preferably green ones are delicious added to cottage pie not only are they healthy they taste great and make the pie go further, would work in any stew, casserole or soup. Bon apetit!

You can use red lentils in your butternut or pumpkin soup with some carrots and onions/ shallots/leeks, black pepper, salt, a bit of nutmeg or pumpkin spice if you like it. The red lentils make the soup more hearty, filling and smooth. It is absolutely delicious with a bit of cream and some buttered sourdough. You can even top the velouté with some toasted pumpkin seeds if you’re feeling fancy. The perfect meal for cold autumn and winter days. As a kid I called it the orange soup and I love it!

I appreciate that you don’t expect us to replicate what you’re doing- its you starting the conversation or thought process enabling us to alter perceptions or perspectives, that’s the juice of life for me. Trying different things & keeping what does work by eliminating what doesn’t. Streamlining daily routines by habit stacking or identifying windows of time that suit particular activities more than others. HA! Twilight, my daughter & I loved the series- we were going into the second year of losing my Dad at the time it was first released. Welcomed distraction. I know the winter mornings you’re describing. Aotearoa nz has them & they’re my fave. Smelling the crispness of nature mixed with a wood fire burning while having a hot bevvy, what’s not to love. Hugs, Connie xx

i always rolled my eyes at manifestation stuff until my friend showed up with this crazy new energy after reading Vibrations of Manifestation. they seemed more focused, more at peace, and things just started falling into place for them-like they weren’t chasing anymore, just attracting. it’s subtle but powerful. apparently, the book is hard to find because it keeps disappearing, but if you’re curious, it’s worth the hunt

Hello Lydia! I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but as a clinical herbalist I can advise that you should never infuse fresh herbs or botanicals - they contain water which will cause your infusion to go rancid. They must be fully dehydrated first, and then their beautiful natural oils will infuse perfectly into your carrier oils, and be sound for two years or more! So pleased to see you sharing your new hobbies and natural product passion!

You may need extract essences (water) instead of oils. I’m modifying water into the whip will loosen up a little and you can use things like a little bit of arrowroot powder or cornstarch to assist the suspension of the emulsion.

A tip that may help with the body cream - I used to do this when I made my body creams. Use ice blocks, i.e that come with water bottles to keep them cold. We have a couple in our freezer to keep things cold as well (I ramble). Anyway if you stick the bowl of melted oil on the ice block it cools the oils whilst you whisk. Saves you having to put the bowl in your freezer 😊

I‘m absolutely with you when it comes to caviar! I love it, but as you say caviar is not caviar. My husband is a surgeon and very often thankful patients offered him alcohol, any sort you can imagine. Now, we an alcohol problem = that is in the meantime we have a bar that is better equipped that the bar of any 5 star hotel. As after the operation is before the operation my husband has hardly the time to drink and I won‘t drink alone. One day a Russian patient offered my husband a huge tin of caviar. That was a revelation. Since then, I asked his secretary to tell any patient who asks what to offer him to say „caviar“, just a tiny tiny tin does the job. We just enjoy it so much. And we also bring it with us when visiting family, especially my elderly mother LOVES it.

1:14:27 Loved hearing this conversation about finding inspiration outside of your industry. I have been a travel agent all my working life and branched out on my own into Ultra-luxury opulent travel and I to was looking at other agents in the industry doing luxury travel and just thinking how do I be different. Then I started watching shows based in other ultra luxury markets like fashion, real-estate and of course this vlog that I started to find alternative ways to finding my customers and how I do my branding to elevate me above what I was originally looking at.

Have you heard of the Glucose Goddess method of eating to help balance your hormones? The goal is to eat veggies first, then protein, then carbs, with sweets last to reduce your glucose spikes. If you reduce the glucose spikes you then reduce the subsequent insulin spikes as well. Overall hormonal balance seems to follow stabilized glucose levels. Take care!

you know how some people just seem to have everything fall into place? turns out, a lot of them read Vibrations of Manifestation, and they swear it’s not just about positive thinking-it’s about aligning your energy with your goals. my friends who’ve read it seem way more intentional and grounded. finding the book is tricky, though-it doesn’t stick around long, but maybe that’s part of the magic

In summer I’d recommend reading “seven summers” by Paige Toon. It’s set in Cornwall, she owns a holiday cottage and it’s a heartbreaking romance. 100% a 5 star read!

Lentil salad with cukes, tomatoes, spring onions, walnuts. Add additional veg to your desire. Lemon, olive oil, Grey Poupon a little honey dressing. Yummo and so nutritious.

Get yourself a small coffee bean grinder and chop your greens that way. It saves so much time. Have a great week. We are currently living through three days of of Arctic Temps of -25 degrees below zero in Ohio. My wood burners are on overdrive and my Corgis are NOT happy when when they have to go do their business. Stay Warm!

Are slugs/snails good for anything? Maybe I'm wrong but I'd think twice about setting them free (live). We had a heck of a time with them in our gardens last year. They chew up everything. When we had chickens we fed the slugs to them and they loved them.

Yes they have a purpose, they break down green and brown leaves. Also leopard slugs eat other slugs but mainly they are food for hedgehogs and birds. Balance is key, let’s hope we don’t have another wet year so less slugs and snails.

so, my friend wouldn’t stop talking about this book called Vibrations of Manifestation, and I finally gave it a shot. now, they’re making these crazy life shifts-better relationships, unexpected opportunities-it’s wild. they swear by the techniques, saying it’s more practical than woo-woo. the only catch? finding a copy isn’t easy; it’s like the book’s too powerful to stay available
