So naturally in my head her last name was pronounced Make-sy. Then when she officially changed her channel name and she pronounced it "Mack-sy" it felt so wrong. Like to the point that when she or someone else says it I want to correct them. Lol. 😂

I would definitely use a flat iron or curling iron to heat the fibers of the wig up and then do a pin curl or use a foam roller. This is the technique I use for all my synthetic wigs (which are all heat safe). I may order another one so that I can cut it into a horseshoe shape and get back to my beloved page boys.
@TheClosetHistorian5 жыл бұрын
Good to know, the rollers definitely worked better with a little heat for sure!

I think your current hair-style, sans wig, is beautiful and perfect on you. The wig...although not bad, does not come close to the level of attractiveness you have with your own hair cut and style. This was a very fun video to watch, great job! It was very humorous watching you take the scissors to that wig with somewhat wild abandon. Reminded me of my 1960 Barbie doll which received a severe hair cut from me as a 5 year old kid. 😃

This is so entertaining and sassy! I love the smooth jazz in the background as you rather aggressively cut Mortie's hair and put pins in her styrofoam head. This is my kind of humour.😁 It seems you're having a good time here and yes, I like those pin sounds, too. The horseshoe cut on the wig reminds me of the time my Dad gave my ponytail a "generous" haircut. It looked great, until we took out the elastic and then major horseshoe! 🐴😅

Hello. World of wonder, with all the fab drag queens has a tutorial on wigs. You can re steam the wig. You could re cut it also. One of the tips I found useful was to put a plastic shopping bag over the hair and then put the steam in There. Less time steaming as it traps the heat. If the wig is too shiny for you. (Glam) you can use corn starch dusted on it and brushed through or dry shampoo spray. Give a more real hair look. Hope this helps!

"Morti" is the plural of "dead", masculine, in Italian. I imagine "Morticia" derives from that direction! You looked so sweet with the long hair and fringe, it made you look younger to me. I have American Girl dolls, all of which have wigs that get ruined if the doll is played with much. To reset the wig, you have to do a hot water dunk. Like if you want permanent curls, dunk the wig into really hot water after you get the curlers in. Now, if you want to straighten it, reverse the process. We can also use curling irons or straightens but the hair must be really wet. The steam you used should work in a similar way.
@StellaMariaGiulia5 жыл бұрын
Love the Morticia/Betty Paige vibes! I'd love if you'd make a Veronica Lake look. From my little experience cutting hair I learned that it's easier to either use a comb or your fingers to hold the lock you're cutting, and be sure to see the spine or your comb or the side of your fingers so that you don't flip the hair upwards, it'll likely want to curl down then. And if your wig gets frizzy (and it's too shiny) my doll collector friends always wash synthetic hair with fabric softener! Hope it helps. You can conquer the wig! 💪🏻

If you are wanting to explore more wig application for yourself then, as a bald wig wearing women, I do have some tips for you and things that you may just not know or I see the same mistakes people make when they have real hair. The first one is that you do not brush your wig with a narrow toothed brush or comb. You should only use wide toothed and be firm but gentle starting with the bottom and working your way in small rows up. The reason is that synthetic wigs are made with plastic and the hair is prone to stretching. The second is you may want to invest in a cork core wig head. Styrofoam heads are great for displaying or maybe even steaming the shape of the the hair in place but be advised, if you have a lacefront wig and are pinning it to your form then the Styrofoam won't hold well for you and you are at risk of tearing the lace. Also, an aside note that I just see people making a lot, synthetic wigs should only be washed every 30 or so uses and should be steamed every 3-6 months if you are not already doing it.
@bonniebelair84705 жыл бұрын
Next time cut the hair towards you. So put the face facing you, and get the bottom hair and cut it the length you want. But pull it to the front like it’s in front of your shoulders. Then take the next section and pull it forward and make it even with that one then keep going. . Then you’re going to roll the hair and steam the rollers. I hope that helps. I would make a video but every time I cut my own hair it involves wine and I’m no videographer😂😂😂 but if you’re ever in tn I can help

I have naturally thin and oily bone straight hair. When I've freshly washed it and let it dry with no product, it is practically IMPOSSIBLE to do anything with it. To some people, it may seem weird to complain about silky and smooth hair, but it's seriously impossible to get it to stay in any hairstyle and it's also sort of...painful? Because there are many flyaways, which get stuck in headscarves or hair elastics in odd angles. Thank you for acknowledging the struggle. The way I deal with it is putting product in it, such as mousse, which immediately adds texture, but I am not sure how that would work on a wig.

If you don't want to buy another wig you can straighten that wig out with the steamer. Because I messed up mine with foam rollers and I had to steam it out after I steamed in the curls to fix it because I was in a time crunch. So I had to use a my sisters curling wand on low heat for my Renaissance Wonder Woman cosplay.

Highly entertaining video. I thought the style and length looked.very Rita Hayworth, even though she didn't have a fringe. I think it worked and it did look more '40s/'50s than '70s to me. You are right about not taking such big sections of hair. My mum was a hairdresser who used rollers and she also used settling lotion, which might help to stop the wet hair escaping from the rollers. Does that even exist anymore? Not sure.
@TheClosetHistorian5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! There is indeed still setting lotion, I have one called lotta body I bought ages ago, but it's not cruelty free so I wouldn't buy it again. I'm not sure if products work the same on fake/synthetic hair? Not sure!

you can also boil the wig instead of steaming it. leave it in the water a few minutes, then shock it in cold water. let it dry all the way, then you're on your way. otherwise, using a plastic bag over the wig while steaming it will get the fibres hotter and keep the steam working on it longer. also, you can re steam or boil this wig and the synthetic hair will coil around the new curls. you did great for a first try, though. wig styling can be weird and difficult.
