Great video :) Also, you're right about the heat... this is the hottest summer I've ever experienced in my life.

Great video, great plant. Would have been better with a focused lens. You should try keeping the camera on manual focus. Also, the white table causes your camera to underexpose. You might consider covering the white table with black plastic or grey weed block material - anything dark - to get a brighter exposure on your subject. Keep up the good work. I enjoy your videos!

Great video! How fine of a screen do you use when sifting the garden soil? Do you have any updated videos for this particular bonsai?

Did the tree recover well from the transplant? I ask because I read that you should never bareroot cotoneaster. Unfortunatelly, I read that after barerooting mine, so I was wondering... Also, is August a good time to repot?. Books always say late fall, early spring. I'm just starting out in bonsai, so I'm still struggling with the basics.

Lava rock crushes very easily. Just purchase the large lava pieces, put some in a tough ziplock bag, and whack it with a hammer for a while. Then just sift out the dust particles and you are good to go. I always crush and sift my lava rock when repotting shohin trees.
