When you graduate from the academy you are given a choice of 3 troops but not your home troop. You have to serve 3 years on your first assignment

Most of the nazi law enforcement in the US do. How else would they keep their for profit revolving door type prisions open. Shame they don't care about the people the would legalize drugs across the board. Then people who want help can get it. Then education on drugs can cause the use rate to plumit. Across the pond 2 small extremely dangerous countries legalized drugs across the board. They went from 2 of the most violent drug using countries per capita. To one of the lowest drug use and safe countries. The war on drugs is the war to control thats all. Anyone who has ever done drugs will tell you in the most remote areas they can get any drug they want by delivered by 3 different people. When you legalize drugs the rate of disease, accidental death, all go down. Drugs become safer, regulated, go from a cost of billions to an income in taxes of billions. Organized crime has there funding destroyed instantly. Then can no longer operate. The benefits of legalization of all drugs is massive. Where the war of drugs has been going on 40 years and a 15 year old kid can get the hardest drugs delivered by multiple people the only benefit to the war on drugs. Is control of people thar won't do what they are told.

I love Pennsylvania State Troopers and when I'm older, I want to be one. One time a k-9 unit came to my school for a demonstration and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I have developed my interest in law enforcement from there.

State Troopers only do highway patrol for the first two years. After that they can go into specialization. Most states have Highway Patrol, so State Police don't worry about it, but PA doesn't, so they pick up the slack. ANYWHERE in PA that does not have an adequate police force, the Troopers step in. Also, most departments lack solid investigatory capabilities. The State Police help them out with that too.

Their hiring process is too strict. I tested for 20 twenty years and it took me 12 years just to pass the written part only to not be selected to advance even after passing all of the physical agility events. I was raised the right way, don't drink/smoke/do drugs and have no criminal record. Instead they chose to hire troopers who ended up having a d.u.i., get caught possessing child pornography as well as accepting cadets later finding out that they were involved in the testing scandal. They really need to be more fair with gender, race and just because you're not booksmart or physically fit doesn't mean you wouldn't be a good trooper!

The last ranked state police agency. If you are looking for prestige don't waste your time with PSP. They police theirselves and have the lowest standards, the academy is setup as a paramilitary standard that is not acceptable in law enforcement standard of this time and age. They want new people to do as they told, that's why they train you this way. You are sworn to uphold the Constitution, but if they tell you different you must obey or they get rid of you real fast, not many troopers make it past the 1st year let alone the 3rd year, big turn over in the agency that should be more publicized! The ones that make are the bad cops that shouldn't have and that's the structure of the agency, bad cops!
