You can replicate the look with hexagon paper, acrylic, or plastic gift boxes. Another option is premade hexagon silicon mold, add decoration, and pour clear resin.

3d print and hand paint them?
@nic54234 жыл бұрын
It was the vacuum chamber that threw off the idea for me.
@zarlus84 жыл бұрын
@@nic5423 understandable. I don't have one either, but it's only being used to pull the bubbles out of the resin. You can reduce bubbles by pouring slowly in one spot or with thin layers. If you don't care about trapped bubbles then there is no need for a vacuum.

This is beautiful. I love the use of a single wood. It makes the final version cleaner. Other custom boards will have beautiful individual tiles but all together they're busy and chaotic looking. This board is artwork that can function as a playable board. Thanks for sharing.
@Khangst4 жыл бұрын
I did a similar project like this (the one in this video is so much cleaner btw), and let me tell you it is very time consuming. The creator put a lot of effort into this and the video shows just a fraction of the total work needed to make something like this. Your main costs would be the resin and silicone (more molds can definitely speed up your work time though). I will say that if you want to do a project like this, it is very possible to do one without the other tools (vacuum chamber, blow torch, belt sander). There are resins with low bubbles and easy to work with, just do some research. Overall it makes the catan experience way more fulfilling!

It looks good but as a game it is hard to visualize the different types of resources. I would have chosen to use different woods for different tiles to help out

I was thinking the exact same thing, or different stains, also the playing pieces go on the cracks and with these pieces it looks like the cracks might be larger so maybe make some custom larger roads, settlements, and cities.

Everything looks different colors, exepct the green ones which have sticks and what appears to be.. rice bubbles? If those are not the same they should be two different shades of green. Otherwise it reads easily (as someone who has never played this game). Brick, straw, skulls, metal(?)..

@Reefiemon4 жыл бұрын
@@fastcar42069 True but accidents do happen, such as with a wrist strap that doesn't properly fasten. Finger hitting a sawblade = slice. Glove grazing sawblade or just about any other rotating component = pull till the motor hits something its torque cannot overcome (i.e. big bones or who god knows what at that point). The glove rule is even more important for stationary tools, because....they are more likely to stay stationary than your limbs/body. :'(

Dunno why this is in my feed, but it's gorgeous. I have no idea what it would cost, but I would very much love to buy a set of these c/w settlements, roads, theif etc. I would love to see this again with better lighting in your kitchen and where ever you were grinding, could have been a lot easier to see if the light were off to one side so the shadows don't mess withthe visual. Huge difference between your daytime/night shots as well. Ditto for some of the camera angle choices, I think you were going for variety, but there is nothing to see with a landscape shot of you working on the diorama. I mean this as constructive, and totally get if you're just someone filming for whatever reason, don't know anything about your channel or content just happened across the video and Baked Dave thought you might find the above comments helpful. Beautiful product! Ps - gloves v table saws = 🚑
