At 05:25 you grab the same brush in the library. But (for everyone who don’t know that) you could just. Paint with the brush, than (WITHOUT changing or clicking anything) just hold the eraser or smudge finger for a while. And procreate will smudge or erase with the same brush and size as you draw. ✍️ sorry for my English, hope you understood what I mean 😂

I teared up a bit at the final shot with the music out of awe. Looks like Procreate Dreams would benefit from having some actual animation tools for environment maybe, something that could set the vanishing point for all things inside a group and a ‘Z/Depth’ amount for a layer so that when moving ‘a camera’ it would know how much to scale it. Procreate has 3D capabilities with all the material painting (that seems to have stopped a bit on that front?), maybe some of that functionality can be used as helpers for animating in Dreams too.
@nikolailockertsen10 ай бұрын
Hehe, thank you :-) the music does alot! Yes, Dreams is still just the first version. Imagine what will come :-) If you compare the first version of Procreate with the one we got now, it is lightyears different. So we are in for alot of amazing tools in Dreams to come

@@nikolailockertsen another question, what is your procreate canvas size? I am trying to import but for me it feels all over the place.
@nikolailockertsen7 ай бұрын
@@imtheordinaryartist I often go for big canvas in Procreate. Forexample 12000 pixels wide or atleast 6000. Depending on how big a cameramove I wanna do in Dreams. When you then make a new project in Dreams I go for 4K. As you import from Procreate to Dreams, your canvas will be as much bigger than the frame, as it is in pixels. You just have to scale down your group with all content. If you know you dont want to do any cameramove or zoom in Dreams, you can stick to 4K in Procreate as well. Then it will fit the frame perfect as you import.

Nice video! :) can you explain however the camera movement or being able to scale it
@nikolailockertsen10 ай бұрын
Thank you :-) The camera is not really there, so you have to move all elements instead of the camera. In this one all elements (except the bird) is scaled bigger from the same point (you can set where you want the ancor-point) The closest elements are scaled more than the ones further into the scene. This creates the illusion of the camera move.

For starters get something with a lot of ram and a lot of storage. Not sure how much work you’re planning to do but considering it’s animation like I said, you’re gonna want a very powerful laptop/PC. Something with a lot of ram, usually over 16. You’re going to want a lot of storage considering animation can be hefty. I personally don’t know anyone who uses a laptop for animation. Everyone I know, They all bought a PC or built one. But to be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were gaming laptops out there that could handle animation. I would suggest if you’re looking for a laptop rather than a PC for animation try looking at high end gaming laptops. Hope this helps

Thank you :-) Yes, every element in the scene scales towards that point. And you deside where you want to have that point yourself. The important thing is that everything (except the bird) has the same ancor point placement. Question: im very new to Procreate and procreate dreams. I made an animation using procreate and turned out pretty good for my level. However, i want to level that up by merging the animation to another drawing i made. Basically its an animation of eyes blinking, and i want to merge it with a face. But i cannot seem to merge it together. What am i missing?
@nikolailockertsen9 ай бұрын
I have animated blinking eyes a few times. And the most easy place to do it is Procreate Dreams. Becouse then you can have your drawing on one track and your eye-blink on a track above. Then you dont need to think about merging. You just use different tracks. Then you can frame-by-frame tye eyelids. You can import from Procreate to Procreate Dreams and put different projects on different tracks!
