I‘m only a beginner when it comes to digital drawing and I always wondered why artists keep filling their objects with grey before colorize them? I‘ve seen this everywhere and I don‘t get why they keep doing this.
@suyin87963 жыл бұрын
I could be wrong, but usually for masking, a method that allows you to use layers for your drawing. When I use the grey, it’s usually to allow me to see where I need to colour on next. But I am only amateur so I could be wrong!
@YANAPA3 жыл бұрын
The real answer to that technique is for having a good read of values (light & shadow) for the scene. So when he’s done with it he can colorize without changing values. I hope it makes sense!
@Lygon_3 жыл бұрын
They fill their objects with grey so they can basically quickly select that block of grey and make a selection without having to lasso the shape every single time. It’s a real time saver! Of course, you can use it in other ways too like the ones mentioned here.
