Ian McKellen said he didn't like doing cgi scenes because in Lord of The Rings he had to do scenes by himself. And had props that replaced the Hobbits. So he had to pretend like they were the other actors. He said he felt separated from the rest of the cast and it got lonely. And that's not what he got into acting for. He wanted to act with other people. So cgi has it's ups and downs.

@@LONEWOLF-rq5tl and a whole lot of work. There's no make Thanos button. There are artists on each shot cleaning up and correcting motion capture. There are artists modeling and then other texturing thanos. There are people making machine learning algorithms and implementing them into something for the pipeline, and no doubt there was a lot of iteration with Thanos since he's such an important hero asset. Then there's literally everything else, like CG environments, FX, and other characters that need work too by numerous artists just like this. Technology gives you tools. It doesn't replace artistry.
