I have been highly amused by the ppl who claim this is Omega's undoing lol. This is BRILLIANT! IVE OWNED 4 Seamasters (2- 300s & 3 P.O.) ha e always wanted a speedy but can't quite swing more than 1 in my stable at one time and just can't break away from seamaster. But now I can get close! And it's omega branded! Great fun idea!

Well done Omega!! I owned a Speedy Moonwatch for couple of yrs in 2018. I ended up selling it to purchase a second car (my other big passion) I respect very much your commitment to reach out to those who cannot afford to keep a 4 figure watch in their collection! At first I was baffled, but now I’m hyped, now I want one for all my kids, even my 5 year old daughter recognizes the omega brand from my other watches and keeps asking me about the “pink” watch 😍😍 , Venus and I can’t wait to get them for all my kids, I always had my eye on an a Speedmaster pro as well and I feel this is genius, it’s like an official replica that will make me want the real deal!!

Through the backtracking by Nick Hayek on the “will be available online” statement, and having them available in limited quantities at select stores, you have pulled a Rolex move with a relatively cheap watch. Unfortunately as second hand market prices are now really high, you have also encouraged the manufacture of fakes. @@imranbecks Pluto or Saturn for me, and as a young guy who does not yet have the means for a proper luxury watch, this is a great opportunity. I'm extremely excited to get my hands on one of these, and for under $300 I know a few other watch lovers who will as well. I remember when these were announced and when I went looking for news I was shocked how many watch channels were positively fuming over this. I wish I understood it, it doesn't make your Omega worth less, it doesn't diminish the brand, it just gives more people the opportunity to have a classic timepiece. I mean some of these guys are acting like it's a fake or something, just sad to see how snobbish some of these "watch guys" can be.

On the Moonswatch. Yes, it is build like a swatch and, yes it is overpriced as such. But Omega branding and design justifies the price, I guess. So what is the real problem. The Swatch group transformed a terrific idea, with the moonswatch gaining plenty attention and a lot of interest, in the worst marketing strategy possible. First they only deliver to boutiques, so you have to be near one to try to buy it. In Lisboa we have one that is receiving 30 to 50 units, 3 times per week. However, the watch is close to impossible to buy because they refuse to make a waiting list (Portuguese importing company says Swatch does not permit waiting lists) and they do jot advertise when a new batch is arriving. As soon as the a new batch of moonswatches reach the store they are sold within 30 to 45 minutes. As the boutique is in a big mall, it is obvious that it is quite easy for “mall personnel”to buy the watches and make a profit in the secondary market. So, swatch is not interest in selling to normal persons, enthusiasts and/or collectors that want the watch for themselves. Curious enough, you can order other swatch, omega, or any other watch from the swatch group. I decided that they can keep their omega plastic copy.

Hard to see how a Swatch can be mistaken as the real moonwatch as it is just an official replica/homage of it and done in good fun.
