@@samwilkinson9670 I want the X-Carve! Need to give myself a few lessons in Fusion360 / similar first!
@Arterexius3 жыл бұрын
@@emilycoe8244 If you haven't already, then Sketchup Make is a good starting point to work in, before moving into Fusion 360. I came from Sketchup Make and into Fusion 360 and the transition was seamless. There are some differences, mainly in controls and sketching and then there are a lot of tools that are definitive upgrades. like the chamfer and roundover tools. In Sketchup you have to draw those where you want them and how deep you want them. In Fusion you just select a vector line, enter a number (or drag the arrow) and hit enter. And it can do multiples at the same time, where in Sketchup you can only do one at a time. You can neither draw direct domes and spheres in Sketchup. You have to draw them vertice by vertice. In Fusion there are direct tools to it. I'll never go back to Sketch Up, but it's a good introduction program for Fusion. I picked up even the more advanced modelling tools in Fusion mere months after starting to use it, due to my experience with Sketch Up. I may add that I have quite a few years of experience with Sketchup Make, but my advice still stands. Use Sketchup to learn the basics of sketching and modelling (like using the extrude tool) and then move on to Fusion 360

Hey did you have to clamp the pattern when glueing :)
@shthomas764 жыл бұрын
Great video! Sorry if I didn't get this part, but how did you join the patterned plywood to the standard plywood? Did you have a thinner plywood on bottom and glue both to it? Or just glue both sides together?
@samwilkinson96704 жыл бұрын
Nothing underneath ! Just glued it together !

When u say square do u mean hexagon?
@Arterexius3 жыл бұрын
No, he meant square. The physical shape is a hexagon yes, but the pattern looks like an isometric, 3D cube
