making pirate grogg. citrus infused rum drink.

hey all
so its been a while since i finished a video and this one is no exception. this was supposed to be my Halloween video but through work and illness it was never finished until now!
so grogg is a pirate drink which was originally rum and water but later on it was used as a way to prevent scurvy.
so i took it and made it my own by making an infused rum drink.
this is basically a toddy but once finished i decided to change it to make a better drink easily by adding apple juice. you can never have too much vit c :)
so i will be up front and say this isn't not my best video making skills but the worst part of being away for a while is the 1st video back and sometimes done is better than perfect and the only way to do something is to do it and work from that.

It was worth the wait because of that we got a two in one drink and a lesson in being patient can get you better flavoured rum. That is cool especially when served on ice.

this is very true, I am wanting and going to have a closer look into infusions like these, just a bit more normal ( well for me) :P it turned out to be a very good drink hot or cold. i do like it with apple juice but any sort of juice would make it tasty.... pine apple! :D

sorry for being absent online recently. we had alot of not so amazing luck last year . lol my job of 8 years , landlord decided after ten years of leasing to us they needed to sell the house and then when we finally found a place and thought we made the yard secure our 8 year old dog got out and hit by a car and needed to be put to sleep right before Christmas. so have not been online much . On a more positive note I started some basic kinda ready to drink mead in August and bottled it up after the move and it was amazing best batch yet and super clear. Now I need to start some more lol. After watching this video I want to infuse some white rum . might get a couple of bottles and see what flavours I can come up with. HAPPY NEW YEAR . here's to a better year with a decent job that will help me afford patron . ..

hey mel, i'm sorry to hear you have had such a bad time of it. makes all my problems seem small and unimportant. I'm am very sorry to hear about your pup, I have a special place for all 4 legged friends ( big and small ) but here's to the future!
