I will say that a screw is such a small simple thing but from personal experience I know the struggles I had making my first screw. It snapped in the die so many times 😂😂 great video my friend.

Another great video Derek. As always. Love watching your work. You should add the words "Torsion/Anniversary clock" to your title to cover all audiences. As you know here in America most people dont know what a Torsion Clock is. That will help you gain more audiences as they search for either Torsion or Anniversary clock. You should do this to all your videos. Just trying to help you gain more audience/subscribers. Keep these videos coming my friend.

Thanks Derek. So useful to see how the work is actually done. What rod did you use and how did you know which die to use? I am sure at some stage I will need to make a screw, so very useful knowledge for me.

@@DuncanThompson-v7x the screw was made from silver steel & with very small screws it’s not possible to determine thread any other way than try different taps in thread & screw in dies.

That was good thanks. What material was it, and do you cut the threads without oil?

@@rinklestiltskin the material was silver steel and yes although I didn’t show it I always use cutting oil otherwise it will blunt the die very quickly and not cut a very clean thread.
