It's amazing how fast this channel has become one of my favourites. I always rush to click when I see a notification for a new video. Or count the hours to see it when I'm at work. Simple, honest, practical, charming and entertaining. Keep up the good work, Lady Iodo.

I always appreciate your short cuts and consideration of people's finance with these projects. Lovely video as always.

I could have used that cloak last week here in Kentucky, with the wind chill it was 25 degrees below zero. 🥶

Thanks for posting! I do have in my room some boiled wool material which I hope to turn into a ruana cloak. You have inspired me, Happy New Year, and God bless you. 🙂

Awesome, I really do want to start learning to do these things. Gonna have to start with some sewing stuff. I would love to make some Historically accurate things but I think starting with some awesome Medieval PJs would be awesome LOL. So much to learn so little time.

Thank you, glad you liked it :) a Ruana cloak does make a good first sewing project because it's one of those things that you can make as complex or as simple as you like

I would really like to know what kind of fabrics you use and how you got them, I'm trying to make my first hood, but have real difficulty getting materials from what I read I should get 100% wool woven 300g/m2 but that's really expensive
@IodoDwarvenRanger Жыл бұрын
good wool fabrics are expensive, I get mine from a local upholstery warehouse because seeing it first beats buying online by a long way, and I usually expect to pay at least 15 pounds per meter, however for a first project I strongly recommend using a cheap recycled wool army blanket instead of a high quality fabric, it will still make you a good thing you can use but if it goes wrong the first time you will have plenty left over to try again
