I love listening to your blogs, but I do have a bit of a problem mixing sex to God, I am Catholic but I dont go to church apart from Holydays. I dont tell my wife I masturbate, do you masturbate in her presence, I have never been able to , I feel a bit of shame and makes me unconfortable to do it…

@@flavigne5120 it’s not a shameful activity. It would be like feeling shame for sending out a letter or email to a friend. The reason the Bible seems to have a stance against masturbation (although many feel it’s actually a passage against birth control) is that tribes were small and always needed more members, more warriors, so any sex (including gay sex) that didn’t lead to more tribe members being born, was labeled as sinful, to help the tribe grow. But none of that applies now. With 7 billion people on the planet, we need fewer people born, not more, so everything that limits procreation, such as masturbation and gay sex, should be encouraged, rewarded and preached about from the pulpit.

Just addressing the cheeseburger thing. It's a slippery slope when we focus on man's creations. Perhaps if a person focused on a mountain, or the ocean, or the stars; something clearly created by God and not man. Perhaps that might be more appropriate.

I hope you can see just how different the circumstances were between the tribe of Israel over 2000 years ago, and the population of the planet today? Also, regarding the girlfriend who gave her boyfriend the ultimatum that if he watched porn even once more, she would leave him: if I were he, even if I never intended to masturbate again, I would have to say goodbye if that’s what she wanted, as ultimatums are not the way relationships should be. How would she feel if I said to her: I will leave you if you buy another designer purse or shoes in the next 5 years, even if you pay for them with your own money, or they are a gift from a friend or family member, because I feel you are loving them more than you love God. How would she feel about that? (Both are ugly ultimatums in my opinion.) My thought is (almost) everything in moderation. For sure, porn and even masturbation can be harmful when done in excess. I learned this as a teen when I masturbated 7 times in one day (dry) and my penis got very sore (like it was sunburned). Other things you can get addicted to are the endorphins you get from running, jogging, gym workouts, rock climbing or even walking. Done in excess, just like masturbation, porn or eating, there can be negative results. Moderation, love, kindness.

We're all born into sin and if that toddler's behavior is sinful, it is covered by the blood. As innocent as that behavior may seem, it could still be sinful. Just like many other things a toddler can do, like being selfish or slapping his parents. I would not encourage the behavior because we all know what it will eventually lead to, but shaming him is not good either. Just my opinion.
