Making soap ~ Just a Girl and her Horse ~ Sculpted cold process technique

Just a girl and her horse with a glowing sunset in the background. I hoped to portray the beautiful bond of friendship between a young lady and a majestic creature in this soap, and hope you can feel the tranquility and warmth in this scene.
I've had this design in my head for the longest time, and finally decided that it needed to be made. I tried to refrain from sharing it too soon, but who am I kidding? I absolutely love the way it turned out!
I've taken a long break from making soap, but making this design reminded me all over again what it is exactly that I love about this craft! Soaking in every moment and pouring my heart and soul into the details, from the mixing of colorants to get them just right to pouring the oh-so-satisfying gradients that I adore, it's a wonderful feeling to just be at peace with one's thoughts. This really brought something back to life inside me, and I am here for it!
They're scented with a glorious fragrance blend from ‪@bramble-berry‬ with soft but energizing notes of grapefruit, lemon, lime, cucumber, jasmine, pineapple, blackberry and champagne that pair perfectly with the design concept.

Beautiful soap, as always. This design makes me want to write a story. About a young girl, a dream, a horse-shaped rock formation, and the power of love. LOL! I don't know, but I just feel so inspired. Kind of along the same lines as Pinocchio going from wood to real boy, or the Velveteen Rabbit going from toy to real bunny. I might just write it down for the heck of it.

Thank you! I put this into a smaller mold to use for samples. Sometimes, I make confetti soap or pipe flowers for future soaps, or make soap clay with it. None of it ever goes to waste! Check out my page on instagram to see some of the soaps I've made with this excess batter :)

Thank you so much! There are a few different ways I use it, depending on what I feel like and/or have time for in the moment. I put this in individual cavity molds or smaller loaves to give away as samples with orders or donate to a local shelter when I get to have a lot. Sometimes I make soap clay, pipe flowers for future soaps, or make confetti an/or terrazzo style soaps with this excess. None ever goes to waste though!

Marina do you do master batching or you weigh as and when the design demands?

A little bit of both. I have separate batches measured out ahead of time, but if I need just a little more, I will subtract that from a new batch after calculating just how much I need.

No, this will vary depending on many factors such as the fragrance used, recipe, colorants, additives, temperature, how much of a trace you blend to, etc. Sometimes, a layer can set up in just a few minutes, and other times, I have waited 15 hours and more!

Когда вы пишите ММ, вы имеете ввиду мыльную массу? У меня ничего не пропадает, я её заливаю в индивидуальную формы после выскреба, иногда делаю мыльный пластилин, а иногда делаю цветы используя кондитерские насадки. А вообще мыло продаю от $8 до $14 за кусочек, в зависимости от сложности дизайна.
