Though Poppies Grow ~ Veteran's Day Soap ~ Mountain & River Monochrome Landscape ~ Remembrance Embed

On this Veteran's day weekend, let us remember all of those brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and those who continue to serve our country, both past and present.

Made in honor of their courage and dedication, I present to you my "Though Poppies Grow" soap. The monochrome landscape with mountains on the horizon and a flowing river (or beaten path, depending on what you see) provides a stark contrast for the bold red poppy flowers on top. These were made with real poppy seeds in the centers and much care and attention to detail to ensure each one would be perfect!
The soap itself is scented with a custom blend of two fragrance oils from Little Bee Scents with notes of cooling cypress, bourbon, balsam pine, sage, amber, cedarwood, tea tree, bergamot, tobacco and musk. It's difficult to describe but smells very fresh, pleasantly sweet and even a tad effervescent!

It may be due to the fact that Veterans Day is for honoring those who served and/or are currently serving. Memorial Day is honoring those that made the ultimate sacrifice (their lives). It is a common mistake. Hope this helps. Beautiful soap! #proudVeteran #USNavy

This soap is absolutely beautiful. The work you put into it is amazing. There is only one other person I know that would be able to do something as lovely as this. Karen Morland from Edens Secret. She no longer works with soap. I am so happy to have found you. You are incredible. I only wish I could buy off you but I am too far away in England. When you do layered soap like this do you make several small batches so that the last layer hasnt thicked just by cooling. I have only made 3 batches of soap, so i am truly a beginner

I have made soap in several batches before, but most of the time stir it by hand and then add fragrance/color to one layer at a time, and blend only the layer that I am working with. This gives me time to pour the entire soap with one batch, as the fragrance helps it set up while I am getting the next one ready.

Thank you! You're the first person to notice! Yes, not the best practice but I ran out for a few days and couldn't find any in the local store. Needed to wait to get more in the mail, but didn't let that stop me from pouring this design and washed my hands in between mixing colors and each layer, etc.
