you know I am not a gatekeeper person and love to help and share. My only requirement is for them to give me credit and support my page by sharing with others. I am not charging any money, not selling my formula just asking for some support and recognition to my business. You always support my business and I am glad to help! Blessings

Lard is slow, tallow is quicker and palm is super fast, in my experience, I also cant ever get the spatula to stand in the mold. i keep my recipes even simpler! yours turned out really nice! I love simple soaps!

These turned out beautiful!!! I use tallow or lard in ever soap, for the buttery feel of the bubbles, and it seems to slow down my trace but I do soap at 90*. These turned out BEAUTIFUL and will be a very hard, long lasting bar❣️

Thanks Diane!! 😍I am in love with this one. I love the soap made with both tallow and lard too. I can't decide which is my favorite. A couple of commenters have said that the tallow does not increase trace for them. I do think after looking back on some of my more recent videos that I am stick blending more than I realize I am in the moment. 🤔

@WalnutCreekBathBoutique thanks, actually I should make some more now I'm thinking about it again. Here in Australia the tallow is a cheaper price than the lard. Which might be why so many soapers in the US prefer to use only lard.

Hi Lori!! You sweet thing!💕 So 20 pounds of fat that needs processing down?? I think I spent 2 months trying to get through all of our tallow and lard that needed rendered. whew! that took forever! but I do have quite a bit to get started on some soap in the next month or so. I'm trying to take a couple of months off, I've wore myself down since the covered bridge. I'm getting to old 😂

Ok, I tried your recipe and no idea what went wrong. Is it that tallow takes longer to harden in the mold or something? I wrapped mine overnight in a towel as per my norm and unmolded to cut 24 hours later. But my batch looked weird and felt weird! Spots of the tallow appear through the orange coloring I gave it with mica to go with the orange scent I chose. And the texture was oddly soft and crumbly at the same time. This is my first experience using tallow, so I just don’t know…wondering if I didn’t get it to actually go through gel phase, or maybe I didn’t wait long enough to unmold? Have you experienced this?
@WalnutCreekBathBoutique
@WalnutCreekBathBoutique 22 күн бұрын
I have not had that problem at all. Where are you getting your tallow? that is really weird - I went to make sure I wrote it in the description box correctly and I did. I'm stumped. The only thing I can think of is your lye / water amounts... If you used my amounts I will share that my lye was 10.43 oz, and I used 19.84 water with a 6% superfat. If you didn't use my batch size let me know your oil weight and I can see what my SM3 shows for lye/water amount.🤔
@SugarSmack216
@SugarSmack216 21 күн бұрын
@WalnutCreekBathBoutique I did change my batch size and I think I’ve sourced the problem to two different things. 1. I pre batch my lye solution according to the mold I used BUT failed to double check the lye content to account for using your tallow recipe over my standard recipe 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ and 2. I got my tallow from Essential Depot so I assume it to be high quality BUT I notice it has a grainy texture before melting it down so I wonder if it may have gone through a temperature change during shipping that affected it 🤔

If my lye is colder I put my sodium lactate in my lye water and that brings the temp right to equal my oils. Although some say temp doesnt matter. But I still keep them in range anyway. Id hate to waste soap just on busting the myth.
@WalnutCreekBathBoutique
@WalnutCreekBathBoutique Ай бұрын
I sorta do that too but my sodium lactate never brings up my temp high enough. I don't think having the 2 temps really close together is as important as when I first started making soap, but I do try to soap around 85-90 degrees.
