I love the variety you can get with the trees. I also put a few brown leaves on each tree. All trees have some brown leaves. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Der Jason! Yes, they look way better than store bought! I use super trees, with a variety of "flocking" from several different places, I think it adds variety has they all offer slightly different shades of color and texture.

Thanks Steven! I like the Super Leafs as they look the best. I tried one with just ground flock and I wasn't impressed but maybe for N scale, it would be suffice.

As for the trees, if you make them yourselves, they'll be unique. Shop bought trees will show sameness.

Jason does the hair spray seal in the turf

I feel like it does but I also add the turn to a wet coat of the base paint and highlight spray paints on my layout.

Dude, Amanda was given them trees Hell.. she did a great job, may have to hire her for my layout.. your trees look 100 times better than store bought. Question: As i have not ever done trees my self, does the hair spray hold up to time or do you have to respray from time to time.. i may have to give this a go when i get that far..

Thanks Pappy! The trees on there before from over a year ago, I haven't had to reseal with the hair spray unless I rubbed up against them when installing another tree beside it.

It is but it gives the most realistic effect. Not everything in nature looks the same and store bought trees are just too repetitive.
