Now is Paragon 4 limited only to Broadway Limited locomotives or is that also universal decoder than can be put into any manufacturer's locomotives that follows NMRA standards? Thanks!

Thx! That's a pretty cool setup. If the camera could be powered by the track it would save a little space.

Great video Jason, will definitely have to watch this whenever I change out two of my models with old tsunami1 to tsunami2, only thing I need to research is weather to go with EMD or EMD2 for GP40-2’s, if there is a difference. Thanks for sharing and easy show through of the decoder exchange.
@TheTrainFreak26 күн бұрын
All you need to do is look up the EMD GP40 on google and see what Prime Mover it uses. GP40 & GP40-2 uses the same prime mover. The -2 just means it has upgrades vs. the original. Then get on Soundtraxx website and look up their manuals in the documentation area of their site. There should be sound sheets for EMD and EMD-2 and just look at which Prime Mover options they have. If you're still unsure, message me on FB messenger and I'll do my best to help you out. - Jason

Awesome to hear! I've made some changes to mine since making the series but that's also because I did slight modifications to my layout and still doing so. If you have detailed questions, feel free to email me and I'll try my best to help.

What do you think about applying a sealer or paint to all the plywood first to prevent warping? I like that you are nailing the outside of the track ties and the cork roadbed rather than gluing it down. Nailing the inside of the track ties looks horrible. Nailing the outside of the track ties is barely noticeable.
@TheTrainFreakАй бұрын
Most of the time, it's already started warping at the box store because the lumber today is crap unless you buy the expensive stuff.
@JonBanquerАй бұрын
@@TheTrainFreak Excellent point and very true! Maybe creating plywood splines is the only practical way to solve the warping problem?
@TheTrainFreakАй бұрын
Possible but even their quality has gone downhill and that can be more expensive than just buying the better boards.
@JonBanquerАй бұрын
@@TheTrainFreak What would you suggest as a better plywood that doesn't warp that Home Depot or Lowe's sells?
@TheTrainFreakАй бұрын
Once you get everything screwed in as long as you have enough bracing (16" centers), I haven't noticed a warping issue with 1/2" ply on top. I also use project plywood that has one extra ply and comes pre-sanded on one side.
@JonBanquerАй бұрын
What did you cut the angled line in the plywood for the wall that's not square with? You didn't show that. A circular saw with a track?
@TheTrainFreakАй бұрын
Yes, I used a chalk line to mark my line and a circular saw to cut it. The angle is based on the measurements.
@JonBanquerАй бұрын

it is specificaly 3 ft narrow gauge. Cape Gauge (the narrow gauge used in Japan and parts of africa) is 3ft 6in gauge.
@TheTrainFreakАй бұрын
Yes, it is exactly 3 foot in gauge. There might of been some logging RR's that used 3'6" but I wouldn't know of any from the top of my head.
