@57:20 you might consider lazering the center line mark on the bottom of your Template and we'd have zero to measure... carry on ha ha ha

Great job. Thank you for sharing. Please ignore the negative comments. Some people are just rude and petty.

Hey Aaron, just a little suggestion from an old bag making lady for future reference. If you stop the side seams about 1/2" from the bottom, it is MUCH easier to sew on the bottom and makes a good square corner on your bag.

What about cutting little slits in the corners to fan them out before sewing? Anyone tried that?

Great teaching. It comes across in ypur videos, that you and your family business cares about quality...I appreciate that aspect. I have ordered some templates from you before & hope to visit your store soon. And once you implement your new camera, please include the close up shots to detail the leather artistry. Thank you for sharing.

Great video. How long was the draw sting? How long would you make the shoulder strap and would you install a buckle in the shoulder strap for adjustment?

I should add, I want to machine sew this project. Hand stitching I can get the liner in fine, but machine sewing is a whole new problem for me

I bought the template but need more info for the closure strap. (Width and length) and shoulder strap (width and length) please.
@makersleathersupply12203 жыл бұрын
Shoulder straps really are a matter of preference. Mine are normally 1.5" wide. The closure strap I normally took a 1" wide strap and folded it in half to sew then cut to a length that looks right.

Aaron, do you always use the same foot for bags or do you switch. I just bought all the feet from LMC so I looking for guidance on how to use them on bags.
@makersleathersupply12205 жыл бұрын
Normally I only use the standard left foot. Ince in a while I will put the double toe foot on if I am sewing some crazy area that the left wont fit the project.

What rotary cutter do you use? I have a Fiskar that the blades do not stay sharp. What brand is the skiver you used and do you sell them?
@makersleathersupply12204 жыл бұрын
I use whichever is closest. If the blades are easily dulling you might want to look at different cutting board options.

Good Video. Thank You. Out of curiosity what kind of price would someone sell that for.I have never made anything like that before. But it is something I could do. Once again, thank you for making these videos.

With just a little personalization or a tooled patch, $200 all day. With a matching tooled shoulder strap twice that much.

Great project Aaron, I’ve enjoyed building it. Would you please describe how you would go about adding a drop in liner for this bag? I tried to do it on my own and it turned out horribly 🤦♀️ Any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks.

What ounce of leather did you use for the bag?
@makersleathersupply12205 жыл бұрын
It's a 5-6 oz oil tan. Light on the oil.

@@makersleathersupply1220 Would this bag work with a 2-4oz leather, or would I do better to use that as a lining?
@makersleathersupply12205 жыл бұрын
4oz would be ok, but 2 is too light in my opinion.
