Good job, you should get some gas tank sealer to coat the inside so it doesn't get all rusty.
@hugocohdavid7 жыл бұрын
great work dude, you should have some kind of fan meet or a big bbq where everyone can see your rides in person. to bad i live in Sweden tho

It needs a shutoff valve. In case the carburetor inlet valves leak a little, especially over time.

Hey , That turned out great ! you slip roller worked great and your tnk looks amaing ! You should feel proud of yourself ! There are only few people who have built their own tools to produce their own part ! 4thumbs up !!!!!
@namibianbackyardengineerin44127 жыл бұрын
This fuel filter under the tank is super important for homemade mild steel gas tanks. I also made one and after leaving it alone for a while it started to corrode and really packed up the carburetor with fine rust. I now have a stainless tank with a filter.
@smallenginedude717 жыл бұрын
Now that is seriously cool. I love that you made the tool to make a gas tank! you have skills!!

You might want to invest in some hole saw bits for the drill there. It'll make your life way easier. Great build so far. I love that you made your own tank man. A lot of the other channels just buy one and make a bracket to mount it on.

That roller is awesome!
@butchs.42397 жыл бұрын
Awesome work. Only thing I would suggest would've been to put baffles inside the tank to minimize sloshing. The slip roller was too cool, but I'd caution you that wearing gloves when operating your lathe is a good way to lose a hand or arm.
@prancstaman7 жыл бұрын
Hell Yah!! Awesome tank. Don't know if you did but a Saginaw reservoir power steering can cap and neck from the tank make great filler caps for gas tanks.

@mbar9727 жыл бұрын
I agree. I rarely ever watch those other two anymore because you can only do so much with go karts or minibikes and a predator. I like Rather B Welding because of the new ideas and ingenuity in every video. Edit: I do like watching Isaac and his antique type projects, though.

Youre going to want a Petcock of some kind, even one of those Inline Briggs & Stratton ones.... and I'd add another hose barb to the top of the tank and a length of tubing for a vent

Man Dude! Your projects are just awesome and I can't stop watching your videos. But there is one thing that would be just awesome if you will build it. ---> a two-seater offroad gokart! That would be quiet amazing!!
@user-neo716657 жыл бұрын
If you mount it up high on the buggy (like most are) you are gonna wish you added some baffles in the tank. I made a 5 gallon one for mine and the fuel sloshing back and forth drove me nuts. It would rock the whole buggy.

You should probably put a heat shield under the gas tank to prevent the heat from the engine heating up the gas and causing it to boil causing vapor lock

Is the cap vented to stop you from getting vacuum (gah that word just doesn't look right but it is) locked and stopping the flow of gas ? also with the larger tank would be a good idea to put a shut off valve between tank and engine so draining is not so messy
@mihkus7 жыл бұрын
Ste T All he would need is solenoid valve.. When ignition is on the valve is open and if off then closed

I'm going to assume it has a fuel pump on board hence the inline filter probably to catch the nastiness from fabrication ... if not look at fitting one or lose filter this could cause fuel starvation ... just my view .. otherwise looks like you going to have a killer machine

I've often thought of doing so but being park of the motor assembly .. some how you would have to cut into thru to where the CRANK turns, the offset of the throws, etc I have an old 2 cycle engine missing the cylinder and head.....everytime I LOOK at it I think of doing the same thing and there's a clutch..but maybe thinking not kmowing your circumstances maybe a small single cylinder or 2 make it a shifter build this is why they built those torque converter drives lots of low end power and it keeps ramping up to higher speeds....I like the clutch I put, a 350 Honda on a tripsort alsport rts340. it was a beast, but don't gear it for high speed if you are going to lose it off road..good luck on your builds
