How the hell do you not have more followers? You are a welding legend my friend. Good freaking job!

Most mandalorians started with a beskar helm and then had to earn and pay for additional beskar armor. In the meantime they had durasteele armor. Boba, and Jango did not have beskar armor or helms. Mando in the new Disney series started with a beskar helm, then obtained a shoulder piece, then obtained enough beskar to have second shoulder, chest, back both arms/curráis pieces and one thigh piece. Most of the mandalorians in the new show are not wearing beskar armor. Some do not even have beskar helms. You can tell by the battle damage on the armor. Beskar was not supposed to dent, scratch or deform, instead if a hit was strong enough it would shatter. At least based on my geeing out on the lore.

Sad thing is this is now incorrect By the time you made this comment it was correct but now boba/ jango’s armour is beskar lol

So does your shop just allow you to do this off the clock or is there payment for use of all that equipment? If they just allow you, you are so lucky to work for such a good shop.
@theweldinggeek5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I do this off the clock, and yup they just let me use it, honestly if other fab shops aren’t doing the same they are missing out. the amount of stuff I’ve been able to learn without the fear of screwing stuff up is priceless it has benefited the shop immensely I can’t overstate that

Hey man I have this feeling the Mandalorian will end up with a complet kit of Beskar armor by the end of the story.. Do you agree? and will you consider making this set of armor in advance of the finale?
@theweldinggeek5 жыл бұрын
I do agree but I have no clue what the rest will look like so I’ll probably make the changes after they show up on the show or if there are new screen shots before that episode airs

I think there's going to be a lot of mandalorians in the next year. Not all will have actual metal armour only a very select few. & one that actually answers utube comments questions a select few indeed. Fantastic work 👍.

I once cut a whole set of Jango armour from sheets of galvanized steel with tin snips, I was going to back it with fiberglass with studs for mounting embedded in the fibreglass. I like your mounting system better but do you feel the screws on any of your bones? And how heavy are your aluminum with foam armours + vest?

I know alloy is pretty light but isn't the armour set pretty heavy all in all? Do you have a time limit to wear the full armor set until maybe your back starts to hurt or your knees? Video was great! :)
@theweldinggeek5 жыл бұрын
It’s not to heavy if things are set right you can wear it a long time

They keep coming out great! Just one question, the beat-up thigh plate looks like the same finish as the other beskar armor..why didn't you polish it, as well. I haven't seen the Mandalorian yet, for reference.

What tools do _you_ recommend we start collecting to get into this? Maybe we have access to a shop and some of the bigger tools (e.g. TIG welder, giant shear, shop air), but want to start collecting our own smaller tools that we can take care of (e.g. tin snips, angle tool thingy, planishing hammer, those big plastic hammers, some other kind of hammer?, air tools, dies to put in an anvil). David Guyton has something (www.amazon.com/shop/davidguyton), but I'm curious to see your take.

Those all sound great I would add sand bags, deburr tool, automatic center punch, Cleco pliers with 1/8” clecos, a nice drill, drill bit index, rotobroach set just off the top of my head
