Making THE Most Epic IMPERIAL KNIGHT | The Baby Diaries Ep. 7

This week I tackle some Deathguard reinforcements for my Warhammer 40k army. Specifically some DG Blightlords, and what is probably the most epic Warhammer Imperial knight ever!!! I'm planning on spending some stupid money making this knight just absolutely over the top. I know that's so counter to everything we talk about on this channel, but here's the thing. I'm sad about selling my first Knight, Arabella's Last Stand, so I need to make up for that terrible mistake. Ok Ok, it wasn't really a mistake, and selling it really helped propel the channel forward by quite a bit, but I still kind of wish I had her. SO, time to try and make up for it by creating a unique and insane DG Knight.

FOR REAL, I think I screwed up almost every title in the actual video. Which is so dumb, because the titles are seriously in premiere when I'm editing...still, pretty sweet music this week, Tigerblood Jewel and Coma Svensson coming through as usual with some surprising tracks like Gatekeeper from Torii Wolf. The distance is real. It used to be waaaay worse too. I used to live way outside of town, everything was a minimum of 45 minutes away lol

@@eBayMiniatureRescues Jesus, i live in the Netherlands all train/bus stations are around 20 min possible in walking/biking distance if you need to go to the city but basic things like superglue you just buy in the hardware store in the village around 5 mins away. Its weird for me to see so much road when you take road trips.

Depends where you are. In my city there is only 1 tabletop gaming store and I don't know of any other in the whole country (at least I couldn't find any on the internet, so if there are, they have no online presence) not to mention that I cant get a lot of the stuff I see in videos from the US

Man the feels were there when you talked about how much it hurt to sell your model. I feel the knight or Morty should cap off your 2k army. Like you mention both will be the main attraction when you look at the army. Excited to see how you can add that Nurgle twist!

knights in armies used to be good in 8th, but they're just a liability in 9th, I dont know what DG loses if you soup in a knight, but admech for example lose their canticles and doctrinas if you have a SHD (A SHAD won't break it due to the knight of the cog special rule)

You can use the Knight by adding it into a Super-heavy auxiliary detachment. However it will not be able to gain certain ability's (ie infernal Household etc) that it otherwise would have had... Looks great!

I had Blightlords on back order from Amazon since March and they never filled the order. So I ended up just getting a Land Raider instead to focus on the vehicles. Hopefully sometime this year GW can get production up and going full capacity again

any tips on how not to get burned out painting models (death guard models) specifically?

Personally I’m going for variety so I don’t get burned out. There are always gonna be the slog units like pox walkers and stuff, but the more variety you have overall the easier it is to approach each unit. I’ve got all these models but tons of variety so I don’t get bored painting the same thing. Or better yet, I leave things aside as a reward for myself after getting through the harder bits, like morty or a specialty model. Just keep plugging away, it can get tough at times, it always does for every army, but think of how awesome it will be when you’re done and they are all on the table together!

Good grief, how big is that thing?! That's impressive, and definitely an airbrush piece, for sure, I'd say. What brand of airbrush do you use, by the way, Casey?

it's a monster for sure! it looks bigger on camera though, it's the same size as Mortarion, which is still pretty tall at around 8 inches. Using the airbrush will be a must for sure! I use a Badger Patriot 105 for almost everything, super small detail stuff I switch to the Badger Sotar 20/20.

Don't be worried about Terminators being competitive. The reason you can't find them is because all the tournament lists are mostly Terminators and Poxwalkers.

What about drilling a hole in the cap the diameter of the magnet and then having the magnet show right through the cap?

not really, I'm on a tall stool that has a nice foot rest. Like being at a bar. I do a lot of work standing as well, so it's really not bad. If i'm going for really long painting sessions then I'll sit down at my desk and paint. I have another setup behind where the camera is. it's also where I have my computer :)

Yep, dollar tree super glue, cheap and just as good as others...only time I've gone for something else was during the lockdowns because all 5 of the Dollar Trees near me were completely out of the gel superglue which I needed for a project

I like warpfire; ive been doing thier warpcrate mystery box... thingy for the past couple months and have been getting some choice stuff (I just told them to send me minis and not paint and because so I think I've gotten better stuff then I thought I would; gotten like 2 chariots, handful of beastmen, mindstealer sphinx, pink horrors and tzaangor skyfires, which is more than honestly I was expecting to get) apparently when they first started it was bad (just check youtube from a few years back) but in 2021 I've had no complaints
