In this video, I'm bringing together my best advice for taking language lessons as a teacher and also language student! How important is feedback? Homework? Communication? How much should you speak? etc.
I hope you will find this video helpful and Merry Christmas :D

Being active in lessons is great advice! It's also important to find the right teacher for you, and sometimes, it can take time (I replaced about 5 French teachers before finding the perfect one for me).

It basically means that you need to be flexible. I guess there are things you have to cover but sometimes you can skip some grammar points or do them in a slightly different order. Does that make sense?

Actually I thought it was cute! Une question pour finir. Avez vous envisagé de vous mettre à l’arabe? C’est une langue fascinante! Let me switch to English here a little bit. As a trained linguist I think Arabic is a language you will thoroughly enjoy and in which I feel you can excel. It looks intimidating at first especially because of the alphabet (which in fact is the easiest part of the language, you can learn it in a week). I am sure it cannot be harder than the Japanese alphabet which you have learned. Back to Arabic, it is an extremely logical language. The whole language is based on the root system (3 for the majority) and from those roots one can construct many words. This system exists in other languages. For instance in French you can see the relation between say vêtir, revêtir, vêtement, etc. but Arabic takes it to a much greater level. In other words if you know basic root words you can easily guess and/or construct other words. Thus you can make quick progress in learning Arabic! The other interesting thing about Arabic is that the more you study it the easier it gets! The problem with Arabic is that it is a diglossic language. Arabs will write in the higher register of Arabic but will speak in their local variety of Arabic! ¡Me interesaría saber lo que piensas! I wanted to add some Portuguese and Italian but while I can recognize some words in those languages I do not know them! As to Japanese I have zero knowledge of that language! Cheers and keep up the good work! I will try to follow you in the other social networks!
