Making the RYOBI Dethatcher BETTER! | No more BAG!

I just bought a set and put them in. I won't be able to try it until spring. I am a little worried about them falling out. I may drill a hole in the wedge and the dethatcher and put a keyring cable through it just in case. I am glad I ordered it in the bright green. I think it will be easier to see if it does fall out.

This is great. I have the ryobi thatcher and that bag is my only complaint. When using the print to ship link to your etsy, it takes me to your item page that is confusing. You are showing images for this item but the description is for your vac attack adapter for black n decker. I just want make sure before purchasing that I am on the right item page. I figure you placed the wrong description on the page either that or the wrong images for the described item. Thank. Great invention.

Just get 2mm thick 40x40mm aluminium L profile (can probably be 30x30 or 50x50 or smth aswell) and cut to 40,5cm length, put to bracket and done. You can position the L profile two ways, to close or to open the back flap. It cannot fall out, can only come out from top. You can thank me later.

I watched this review prior to purchasing along with your other reviews so I was concerned about using a diy solution too. Brought it home today and noticed that the nylon/mesh bag completely detaches from its frame. Was this not an option on the bag that came with your machine? Without the bag the bag frame props the chute open perfectly. I haven’t tested it in action yet but seems like possible iteration/improvement Ryobi made for this attachment?

My issue was the bag filled up very quickly, and I was having to stop and start. Letting the thatch fall back onto the lawn, the raking and mowing it up has proven to be much more efficient for me.

A fellow WA and still serving Army dude here who loves Ryobi and 3d printing. I’ve only used PLA and was just wondering if it had held up in summer heat. I’m currently down in TX, looking at buying this dethatcher for this year’s lawn work.

If you have a band saw just go ahead and cut one out. Better yet, use a coping saw.
