Around the beginning of 2017, I stumbled upon one of your bent lamination rings videos. Since my wedding was in approximately 5 months, I made the decision that I was going to make my wedding band following your direction. It took I think three tries, and all I had was super glue and a few sheets of sandpaper, but I had a blast and immediately asked myself what else I could make. Well here we are, our garage is now a full blown woodshop, our guest bedroom is my laboratory as we call it, and I have my own LLC and make things for a living. I genuinely can't remember if I've ever made this comment, but thanks for sending me down the path I've gone down! As my wife and I were watching this video together I looked over and said, "Did you know that he is directly responsible for our garage?" And without missing a beat she replied with, "well then I hate him" good times.

Happy anniversary!!! My wife and I have a long tradition of fast food for our anniversary dinner. KFC, Five Guys, Taco Bell, etc. This was the first year in a long time we broke with tradition and had a fancy dinner, because we happened to be on a cruise. We did seriously consider just going to the buffet tho!

I've heard you talk about your wedding before and it's always obvious you adore her. I find your projects interesting, they're not always my taste but always interesting and I enjoy watching your process. I'm no real machinist and only play with hobby grade equipment, my main two thoughts watching you machine your rings are, 1: work as close to the chuck as you can, less stick out means more rigidity and less chattering. If you do get chattering and are struggling to remove it via the normal methods, stop the lathe and take a very very shallow cut rotating the lathe by hand until the chatter marks are gone. 2: Be smoother with your feed, keep the rotation of the feed wheel constant and you'll get a better surface finish.

After 30 years of marriage, a lot of our traditions have changed. One that we keep is that we made sure to have a stupid Christmas tradition that neither of our families had. For us, it was blue string lights on the Christmas tree. My family was multi color and hers was white lights. That and going to church weekly are really the only traditions that we haven't modified over the years. Congrats on making the rings on time this year! Enjoyed the Kelly cameos and the archival footage. Great video, Mr. P.

congratulations to you guys... so many people think successful relationships are just for lucky people who find another perfect person... but people who are in long-term successful relationships know that _NONE_ of them exist without lots... and lots... of work. Relationships take work. And i think the effort you put into the rings each year (and your comment about how it gets harder to design each year) is a great analogy. Want to have a career? takes work. Own a home? Work. Learn a skill? Work. Have a family? Lots of work. Same for relationships. Congrats to you guys for the work you have put in and sharing the journey with us.
