Dean Bufton put together a diagram like this over a year ago on AMDIY 😁 His was OBD2 at all ends so that you could connect something like the Foxwell scanners to both ports at the same time.

As i don't have AMDS, i ended up purchasing an FCOM (old FoCom), it can configure some ECU parameters, not so comprehensive as AMDS but does the job. For ECU errors i use a simple ELM327 with a phone app

Could the 12v injector port be used to keep the ecu powered when the battery is removed. Read about that for older cars so the misfire correction learn isn't lost? Not sure it would be a good idea or safe.

Remember that on older gaydon era astons misfires can be reset to relearn with the lift and coast procedure, don't remember how to do it because i have it documented somewhere in my computer, but can be done without AMDS

I have a spare set of rear lights for my 2009 DB9...how can I connect them to a battery for a feature at home? Don't want to experiment with crocodile clips and a 12v battery - PLEASE HELP ME

I heard that this 12v connector is used to flash / program the CEM when it is bricked/new. It could be needed as then it won't pass 12v to the VCI so it needs to be externally powered. Source: I don't remember :) Btw, thank you for this detailed analysis, this Y-cable is the only thing that was missing to my AMDS setup.

Where to obtain the AMDS software?
@LiqdPT Жыл бұрын
@@davidjoseramirezbravo4525 amds is only available as an entire laptop, and generally from aston martin. It's very expensive

Unfortunately the only place is to purchase from Aston Martin. An entire AMDS is about $20K USD if they would even sell it anymore. Thanks for watching!
