Excellent, unique, consolidated, clear (explanation & photography). Difficult to intuite where darks are placed, appreciate your showing us. The colcolumn’s show a steady progression in value paralling the grey scale. Chart actually shows two dementions?

How do you translate the home value to the step of CHROMA? E.g. Cad Orange HV 7 = 16 steps chroma. You lost me there. Thanks much. I am charting and learning so much.

This is interesting. First time I've seen Munsell system taught with having the Munsel lbook, which is ridiculously priced

..is there an easy way to estimate chroma ? or by knowing the starting chroma number of a specific color, you would estimate the chroma value based on that?

Not sure exactly what you are asking, but I think it is, “ How do I find the maximum chroma starting point for my charts with a paint that I have no information on”? To answer that is that you follow the steps in the previous videos and discover what your Full Chroma Value is. Then you mix a Neutral String at that value and see how many you get and that’s your starting point for that unknown hue color not previously shown. Hope I helped.

One other thing... If you are using pigments with really high chroma that is off the standard 16 step chart (like Phalo Blue) you will have to mix out to that step and start there with a long descending line. Unless you want to extend your chart out of course.

Where do you get the canvas that you are making these charts on?
