Thank you so much for half a million subscribers. I hope this video strikes a balance between helpful and entertaining. I encourage everyone with the faintest interest in animation to try out this process, it's really fun and unique. It's okay to steal my style outright, imitation is flattery and the greatest jumping off point for finding your own style. Links in the description to everything you'll need! Much love

@@baconknightproductions8297 the best thing i can think of for the long way is the incredible bonus features on richard linklaters movie "walking life". the movie itself is awesome so maybe watch it first and then to see some truly amazing stuff with it watch "a scanner darkly". its keanu reeves, woody harrelson, robert downey jr and wynona ryder. so yeah... again, the movie itself is just next level. its richard linklater again and it has some great special features but im 99% sure it was invented by the richard and the waking life crew. theyre both great anyway. and with a scanner darkly sometimes i lose the fact its animated. its really neat what they do.

This is exactly how AI is supposed to be used in creative projects. It helps make the process faster and easier, but you still use your artistic skills and put in the work to make it your own unique style. From what I’ve seen, AI bros don’t want to put in the work and just want the AI to do EVERYTHING for them, whether it’s due to lack of artistic skill or patience, or both. And then they ignore the glaring issues because they don’t have the trained eye to spot them.

I've drawn and sometimes animated digitally with a mouse my entire life and only as I got older did I realize that everyone thinks that's weird. If that's all you use you get used to it, it can be as easy as drawing by hand, sometimes to me it feels easier. But of course you can never get as much detail as you could if you were using like a tablet or something, like I don't know if there's a pressure sensitive drawing mouse or something... Actually I'm gonna look that up.

@@Squishito A pressure sensitive mouse sounds like something that should exist but I'm not sure it does. Drawing with a mouse hurts my brain because I'm left handed for writing/drawing, but right handed for mousing. @@DenSvartaStjarnan Some people do think that. And they are absolutely asshats. But more in line with Joels theorem for art. Doesn't music exist to be heard? And if you are someone who dreams of creating music, in some form, by some method. Then shouldn't the barrier to entry be as low as we can make it? The argument is hardly that art should be devalued to the point it should be free, but more that the world should be a place full of art. And if you are someone who wants to create art (for profit, or pleasure, or acclaim, etc) then you should be able to do so.

He just changed my entire perspective on digital art. Even though I tried not to, until now I think I somewhat looked down on digital drawings in particular, simply because the artists don't have to deal with a lot of the hassel involved in physical drawing or painting. Like being able to alter colors with one click or applying an effect instead of having to redo the whole thing if you want to change something. But actually, I've always believed that there are way more important aspects to art than the technical skills, and also that it's a shame how many people can't express themselves creatively because they lack any such technical skills. Now we finally have new forms of art that make that hurdle much easier to overcome. We are getting closer to the point where everyone can put art out there without having to spend years practicing, and that's a good thing. Creative vision and inspiration and things like that are becoming more important than technical ability, and imo that's how it should be.

Jesus Christ the effort that went into this video... Explaining the process whilst putting in the very techniques into the video, keeping the character going, the explanation going, while also finding a way to as an editor and creator have fun with it. Letting the video become somewhat meta. It's fun to see and kinda rubs up against humor for me. It can really give a glimpse into the mind of the creator to see the levels of effort behind a given project, and what little tidbits get hidden in-between the metaphorical lines. This video is weirdly genius even for being a behind the scenes kind of video. Like how the animated person is doing the work over a typically real person. That's just... Funny to me on a level I can't quite put into words.
